Child Care Solicitor

Accepting new clients via ReviewSolicitors

I am a Solicitor in the Childcare and Family department at Duncan Lewis Solicitors. I have experience representing parents and grandparents in a wide range of Family and Children matters, including Public Law and Private Law Children matters. My work includes representing clients in respect of applications for the following Court Orders: - Care and Supervision Orders; - Special Guardianship Orders; - Child Arrangements Orders; - Prohibited Steps Orders; - Specific Issue Orders; - Non-Molestation Orders; - Occupation Orders. I also act for parents in pre-proceedings, under the Public Law Outline. I act for parents and grandparents in proceedings that cover various issues, including physical, emotional and psychological abuse, alcohol and substance misuse, mental health difficulties, financial abuse and sexual abuse. I have also been involved in complex cases including non-accidental injury; abduction and relocation within the UK; and cases where the parents are lacking capacity due to a mental health condition. Where possible, I undertake my own advocacy and I am passionate about representing clients from all backgrounds who find themselves in need of legal advice and representation. I have experience representing clients experiencing mental health difficulties, as well as representing clients with learning difficulties and clients for whom English is not their first language. From the very beginning of my career, I developed knowledge and experience working with survivors of domestic abuse and I have plenty of knowledge and experience of this area of law, which enables me to support and advise those who have experienced such abuse. This work has provided me with a good understanding of what survivors have experienced and what they require in order to move forward with their lives. I recognise and understand that cases involving children are delicate and of the upmost importance to everybody involved. I am sensitive, professional and well-prepared to advise and represent every client. I am keen to help those most vulnerable and I pride myself on giving one hundred percent to all my work with only one intention of securing the best outcome for every client.
