Exceptional Legal Support From The Housing Team
I had been in a long and stressful legal battle with the council regarding my succession rights after my father's passing. Before finding Duncan Lewis, I reached out to multiple law firms and legal aid services, but they were either at full capacity or didn’t offer the support I needed.

Richard Mahal, the solicitor who took on my case, and William (Billy) Harding, the caseworker, made an outstanding first impression. They went out of their way to call me out of hours, just days before the hearing, to fully understand the complexities of my case and submit a defense on my behalf. Their commitment and empathy stood out immediately.
Unlike other legal services I had approached, Richard and Billy actually listened. They applied for legal aid on my behalf, explaining the process in a clear and simple way, removing what had previously felt like an overwhelming barrier.
Throughout nearly two years of representation, they provided consistent updates, communicated via phone and email, and always made me feel involved. I especially appreciated how they approached the case proactively, exploring every legal avenue rather than taking a passive stance.
They even took over communication with the council, relieving me of an incredibly stressful burden and allowing me to focus on other areas of my life whilst dealing with my health, loss of work and bereavement. Their persistence and thorough preparation led to a positive outcome in court, including a secure tenancy and awarded damages - the latter of which I hadn’t even anticipated.
Thanks to their expertise and genuine care, I no longer live in fear of homelessness. I finally feel safe and secure. Every interaction with the team, especially with Richard and Billy, but also the Barristers instructed by them was marked by professionalism, empathy, clarity, and respect. They were calm, reassuring, and always transparent about possible outcomes wanting me to be prepared for anything. Most importantly, they made sure I was involved in every strategic decision.
I truly cannot thank them enough. They have not only resolved my legal case but also restored my peace of mind. Duncan Lewis Solicitors, and particularly Richard and Billy, are a rare find, and I wholeheartedly recommend them to anyone seeking legal support.

I wanted to leave this review to highlight the importance of community care and housing support. My
24 year old son is extremely vulnerable and had completely fallen through the housing net. William at Duncan Lewis worked very hard to ensure that Camden provided him with safe and appropriate housing and he has finally been moved to suitable accommodation with the right support where he will hopefully be able to find his feet and move forward with his life.
