Azrina is a Mental Health Law specialist with 12 years’ experience. She qualified as a Solicitor in 2014, after training with a leading Legal Aid Firm. She has been an accredited member of the Law Society Mental Health Panel since 2014. Azrina has extensive experience in advising, assisting and representing all clients detained under the Mental Health Act, under both civil and criminal sections, and those in the community. She regularly conducts advocacy at First-tier Tribunal Hearings and assists clients at Hospital Managers’ hearings, Care Programme Approach (CPA), Section 117, and Care Team Review (CTR) meetings. She also assists Nearest Relatives and other interested parties. Azrina is regularly appointed by the First-tier Tribunal to represent the best interests of clients lacking capacity. She has a particular interest in these cases given the vulnerability of the patients unable to provide instructions; her scrupulous and fair representation in these cases has been commended by Judges and Tribunal panels.
