I am extremely grateful to have had Kim Lehal and her exceptional team as my solicitors in my international children law proceedings. When I first instructed Kim in late 2023, I was a father on the other side of the world who had completely lost contact with my child in the United Kingdom. Kim assisted me in making an application under Article 21 of the 1980 Hague Convention to restore contact. What followed, however, was two years of highly contested litigation in the UK High Court / Royal Courts of Justice in London. The circumstances could not have been more difficult or complex. At the final hearing, Kim and our counsel team advanced my case against the positions of the Local Authority and the Child's Guardian / CAFCASS. Despite the weight of opposition (3 v 1), we secured a judgment allowing my child to relocate internationally and live with me. The court ultimately reached a different conclusion from the recommendations of the professionals involved in the proceedings and accepted my application. Only my representatives were able to grapple with the complex issues in the case. What should have felt insurmountable, the outstanding outcome was achieved through the team's methodical preparation, strategic judgment, and advocacy. From the very beginning, Kim demonstrated that she was not simply managing a case — she was strategically positioning it. She has an exceptional ability to see how matters will evolve long before they do, and to prepare accordingly. Looking back now, every early step proved to be critical to the final outcome. Kim is highly knowledgeable and a strategic thinker, excellent at navigating complex issues and keeping me fully informed. She is also extremely compassionate and understanding. Her willingness to give me that honest advice not only strengthened my case but also helped me grow as a father. She also ensured that either she or a member of her team attended every hearing alongside counsel, so the legal team was always perfectly aligned and I felt fully supported. The proceedings concluded very successfully, and my child and I are now safely settled together. I have no doubt that this outcome was made possible by the way Kim and her team strategically navigated this case from the very first day.
