They have been dealing with my parents estate, taken nearly 2 years and still not complete. Constant delays, incompetence, missed money, ignored emails. Absolutely do not use this company, they only make a difficult and stressful situation worse.

Total lack of communication,constant spelling mistakes on Power of Attorney and Wills.

Simpsons Solicitors work to a high standard. It is Right Legal in Derby who are the problem. Have to give 1 star or I can't leave a review but they don't deserve any. The way they dealt with my husband's probate was appalling - I sent 3 pages of complaints to the Legal Ombudsman who agreed with me on every point. Even though my experience was a couple of years ago the scars left are still raw and when I heard today an old friend is having the same appalling service, I have to say something and try and stop other people being treated as badly as I was. When I put my original review up I had a phone call from Right Legal ordering me to take it down - obviously I wouldn't, they are a load of bullies.

Nearly 3 weeks into managing my late mother's estate and I have still not received ANY updates from our estate manager. To make matters worse, there are 3 other executors stated on my mother's will, yet they seem totally powerless as this firm are holding all of the cards! To add injury to insult, this firm is charging a fee! I know we may be a small client to them but not replying to any of my 3 emails is very unprofessional and totally unacceptable. I called and spoke with Emily King, chasing her for an update, yet from her lack of response to my request for an update, I'd imagine she hasn't started yet even after promising she would! I have provided you with everything you need thus far, yet you have not come back to me or the other executors. Shocking service so far. My mother would be really upset if she knew we were being treated like this.

The POA for my brother began in April 2024is still being extremely badly handled after 2years 2 months. It’s now July 20th 2026 Many phone calls many, many emails then the complaints process. Missing paperwork untruths and incompetence! Followed by dxxxxxxxxx ( I’ve been told this isn’t a word to use. It’s not a swear word!) so I should write that I’m disappointed by the many complaints I have had to make. I still have unanswered questions and no refund as promised and no compensation for the stress they’ve caused and as they’ve promised. I believe they are screening my phone calls. Because they do not answer nor return my voice messages. But answer the phone to different phone numbers! I’ve been ill and by brother aged 75 with learning difficulties is ill in hospital. They will not speak to me on his behalf, yet they’ve done the power of attorney. Kept phoning so I had to arrange a time and go in my wheelchair to meet with my niece who brought David to tell them on the phone to speak to me. I was thinking it was about his compensation and refund. It was from the Will department asking if he wanted to review his Will! They’ve not apologised but said they will not contact me on my phone for him again. Is that why they’re not answering my calls??? My BP And anxiety levels are sky high. This is supposed to avoid stress by having a POA . Also the reviews on Trustpilot are mostly very negative. I will be posting this on Trustpilot too

Making changes to two pages long Will has been taking 4 months already. They do not respond to messages, emails. Horrendous service.

I contacted Simpson solicitors to arrange a will for me. After making an amendment which I was charged for, the amendment was wrong. I later found out by an employee of the solicitors that I shouldn’t have been charged for that amendment. On top of this I still hadn’t received the amended will. To this date I have no will and had no refund. Of course I’ve tried calling numerous times and pushed from pillar to post, and my emails have been ignored. If it was a sham window company I was dealing with I could understand the hassle. But a solicitors?

In our first session, which was free, we were given plenty of advice and options for both wills and powers of attorney, both essential in these times. All the staff were lovely too.

Had to employ a solicitor to get access to a will I was an executor of that this firm took from a closed solicitor’s office. They knew I wanted the funeral stipulations and would not release it. They didn’t care that I needed to organise the funeral. They didn’t respond to emails or phone calls. Took 3 months to respond to an email. They’re then very worst, and made a miserable time far worse than it needed to be.

Simson solictors are an easy 5 star rating. Caroline on reception was so friendly and helpful on the phone. After being messed about by other solictors in kingswood . I phoned simpsons, spoke to caroline and in 24 hours all problems have been sorted and Ali was exceptional. He has put our minds at rest and was so helpful and understanding. Fantastic value for money. If you are thinking of getting a solictor to help with a will or probate. Give the guys a call. For us the all round service was outstanding and a massive thankyou to caroline and Ali.
