    On behalf of my daughter, I would not recommend this company. We instructed them in June to handle the flat purchase. After 13 weeks, just as we were awaiting exchange, the Director Eleanor informed us of an internal "oversight" and that the firm was not insured to act on a building of this height. Subsequently, they instantly withdrew from the transaction and told us to find another solicitor. Inevitable, the delay caused the sellers to lose confidence and withdraw from the sale, resulting in my daughter losing the property through no fault of her own. Eleanor will not refund my daughter for the wasted searches and so we have referred the matter to The Legal Ombudsman to consider appropriate redress. Eleanor just couldn't see that is was unreasonable for my daughter to bear ANY cost, when the transaction failed as a direct result of her firms negligence and professional failing. You have been warned.... Polite follow up to your reply. 1) There is definitely NOT more to this matter than I have already outlined. "If there was one, you would have mentioned it, right?" My account is 100% verifiable. 2) You say this matter is still being reviewed by your complaints department. We complained 18 weeks ago? I will let the readers of this review decide for themselves whether that is resonable?

However, there is more to this matter than is reflected in your review. The issues raised are currently being considered through our formal complaints procedure, and it would be inappropriate for us to comment on specific details in a public forum. We feel it is unfortunate that this review has been posted while that process is ongoing, as it does not reflect the full circumstances. We remain committed to addressing the concerns raised fairly and in accordance with our professional obligations.

      I’ve never been divorced before, and I trusted that I would not only get the correct legal compliance, but also guidance through the process. A timeline/expected series of events was never explained to me. And I was guided only by the fact that they had emailed me they did not say expectations at all. I had multiple solicitors dealing with the case, which would indicate the staff retention was an issue. On at least one occasion I was charged for the solicitor getting up to speed on the case. Some of the definitions were not explained to me, and because one of the solicitors sent an email to the other side with the incorrect wording in the subject line, I think it was the word open but I can’t remember, the nuance of the contract and expectations I was setting for the other side meant that that strategy was now defunct and as a result I lost potentially many tens of thousands of pounds. Billing was not consistent. I would get a bill on a seemingly hap hazard schedule sometimes going three or four months without seeing one. I’m sure that they would say they behaved properly, but I do not feel that way

      Jackie and Marilyn managed our sale and onwards purchase and were absolutely brilliant from the start. Communication was great, everything for us was made so simple. Even when our buyers' solicitors were finding frankly bizarre things to raise enquiries on at the last possible moment they were unphased, managed it perfectly, and it never felt like the chain was in any danger. While the purchase was done well the outstanding issue re Deed of Variation we now has to start a separate project and I have to waste my time going onto the BWK site to start things again.
