Dick
Suspiciously acting company
After receiving a letter from Ashfords LLP about being entitled to a small inheritance, and not trusting this letter, I started to Google them after which my alarm bell started ringing. After subsequent e-mail correspondence in order to determine whether they are bonefide this mistrust did not subside, on the contrary: in order to receive my inheritance I needed to provide copies of bank statements, identity proof and signatures for various dubious forms, supposedly due to their internal rules. A drivers license with the word "copy" on it was not accepted but instead they also wanted a copy of the reverse side which contains my social security number (none of their business)! This practice had all the hallmarks of Phishing. Whether I will receive my inheritance is still to be seen. I would not recommend Ashfords at all. They urgently need to polish up their trustworthyness and review their ridiculous internal rules (which even violate privacy laws in my country).
