Steph took over my case a few days before exchange. She was helpful, polite and clear throughout. My experience before Steph was not positive. My previous Lilac conveyancer was not communicative with the seller's solicitors and estate agent, meaning they nearly dropped out. So it was a relief to have Steph take over, but as she was only there for the end of the process it's hard to say how it would have gone differently. I feel that communication could be improved generally with Lilac Law for first time buyers in particular. It would be good to adviced offered freely throughout and have timelines communicated. I had difficulty getting clear information on what to do regarding paths with shared access and unclear boundary information. I would have expected of advice on what could be reasonably expected from the sellor and what should be on title plans. Also considering the large sums of money being exchanged it would be reassuring to have thorough payment and receipt information.

We couldn’t recommend Steph highly enough. She supported us every step of the way, starting with a property purchase that unfortunately didn’t work out. Her advice throughout was absolutely amazing, and as first-time buyers with lots of questions, she always took the time to talk us through everything clearly by email and phone. Steph made us feel completely comfortable and reassured during the whole process. When we went on to buy our second property, she helped us see everything through efficiently and professionally. Stephanie is approachable, competent, and dedicated. Updates were communicated in a timely fashion. All the legal work went smoothly and without any issues. Stephanie was genuinely invested in seeing the home purchase through to the very end. The reason I am rating "good" and not "great" is the quality of written communication. Most of the communication took the form of what is happening right now without the wider context. As first time buyers my wife and I do not know the legal process so we often felt in the dark as to what is happening, why it is happening, and what's left. Stephanie's written responses to our clarification questions were terse and usually didn't answer the question completely. On these occasions I called. She always responded promptly, with a friendly and approachable demeanour, and took the time to answer all of my questions in a great level of detail. I left every phone call more than satisfied. However I work an office job so it's challenging to make time for a phone call, which is why I prefer email communication. I feel a certain level of clarity about the process should be presented upfront without having to chase it multiple times. The service was reasonably priced, and the cost was clearly stated itemised in advance which helped set our financial expectations. We ended up paying more than the initial balance but the reasons were explained and fair. The general perception of the conveyancing process, at least among my social circles, is quite negative. My experience was the opposite. It was smooth and without hiccups. Plenty of waiting, which is expected, but I feel that Stephanie did her best to complete her side of the work as efficiently as possible, without sacrificing quality. It's nice to feel like someone is truly in your corner, as opposed to someone who is going through the motions. Thank you Stephanie!

Ben Clensy at Lilac Law has been great to deal with, helped with our completion and is very communicative. Overall my experience has been great. Ben has always responded to my phone calls or called me back very soon, unlike other solicitor's firms which are difficult to get through. We pushed to get the sale completed a couple of weeks earlier which Ben helped us to achieve. We were referred to Lilac Law by Tembo and I'm glad they did. The price of the service is reasonable. The onboarding was online so no paperwork to fill in which made it fast and easy. Completion and witness via DocuSign was a massive bonus, no having to print out tens of legalise pages, sign and mail them by hand. A small bit of feedback is after onboarding to send an email to the client to let them know you'll be in touch soon, and check the total for the figures for completion fees, which clients should be double checking anyway. Overall great service and highly recommended.

Thanks Lilac Law. I have used this company previously and had excellent service. Communication was great and they kept me up to date. Sellers side were dragging their heels sometimes , however Lilac Law were always proactive. I am currently using them for an issue I have with a lease and again communication is great.
