I instructed Beeston Shenton in relation to a contested property matter and have been consistently impressed with the standard of work. Eleanor Adams has led the case from the outset and has been excellent throughout clear and measured advice, a firm grasp of the detail, and an honest view of both the strengths and the risks in my position. Daryl Atherton has taken on a great deal of the work more recently and has been equally strong. Both attended the conference with counsel, which was extremely well prepared and gave me real confidence in the way the matter is being handled. What I have valued most is the willingness to engage properly with the material I have provided rather than treating it as a box-ticking exercise, and the fact that questions are answered promptly and in plain English. The approach has been strategic rather than reactive, which in a matter of this kind counts for a great deal. The case is ongoing, but on the work done so far I would not hesitate to recommend the firm.

Veronica was excellent throughout our house sale, she was always kept us up to date and was responsive and acted quickly on information and requests. She supported us in responding to some confusing enquiries, explaining things to us simply and clearly. She went above and beyond on chasing our buyers solicitor who was awful throughout the process, I dread to think how long the process would have took if we didn't have her in our corner! During our exchange and completion Veronica was on holiday and Tracy took over our file. She was also excellent in her support, keeping us well informed on the progress and going above and beyond to chase our buyers solicitors and get things sorted for our requested date despite awful communication and organisation from our buyers solicitors.

My experience with Beeston Shenton Solicitors was highly disappointing due to their poor communication. Throughout our property transaction, we were frequently left waiting for updates, often having to chase the team ourselves. Most frustratingly, we would hear updates from the seller’s solicitors through the sellers well before our own solicitors bothered to inform us. This lack of proactive communication made the process stressful and left us feeling overlooked. It’s a basic expectation that clients are kept informed to avoid uncertainty, but Beeston Shenton fell short. Even if the timeline was reasonable, the lack of transparency made it feel anything but. I’d recommend choosing a firm that values clear and timely communication.

Will never go with these solicitors again. In fact they have put us off ever moving. There is no communication, I constantly had to ring up and email asking for updates, I’d receive no replies, told someone would get back to me and they wouldn’t so I’d have to chase up again. The fees said one thing and then they charged us way extra but because it was a phone call we were told the original price, we had no proof. I was constantly having to push them to actually do things. There was no chain involved yet nobody seemed like they could be bothered to do anything. I kept expressing the urgency in the end to move but once again, they weren’t bothered. Then finally a date was set. We had moving vans ready, things ready to be delivered, booked the day off work and were up early and loaded the car. We hadn’t heard from them though all morning so I ring up, they hadn’t even bothered to start the process that day. Our mortgage advisor wasn’t hopeful it was going to go ahead as the solicitors once again, hadn’t bothered to release the funds or whatever it is they do. We received no apology, nothing. I ended up in tears from the stress. Funnily enough though the solicitors were eager to take the money we owed them and the extra they had added on. A process that was meant to be exciting as it was out first house way nothing but stressful and ruined the whole experience. NEVER EVER use these solicitors.

We are so grateful that we have chosen the right solicitor, Veronica Du'Quesnay-Brown and her team of Beeston and Shenton Solicitors, for purchasing a property. They are all so friendly and helpful in all ways. We cannot ask for more with their excellent service and their helping hands all the way through the completion of the purchase. I had a very stressful and frustrating experience with Beeston Shenton Solicitors while purchasing my first home. From the beginning, the process was plagued with delays and poor communication. It took over a month for them to even begin progressing with my case due to system compatibility issues with the seller’s solicitors—something I was never informed about until the sellers themselves asked if the purchase was still going ahead. My case was then passed to another solicitor, who began asking for documents that had already been provided. On one day, I received emails from four different people, each claiming they were now handling my case. I was asked to email documents back, only to be told months later that they needed to be posted—without even being given an address until I followed up myself. I had to chase Beeston Shenton repeatedly, not only for my own updates but also on behalf of the seller’s solicitors, who were not receiving responses for weeks. My own emails were often ignored or met with one-line replies that offered no real help. Not once did any solicitor call me to explain the process or offer reassurance. Everything was handled via email, which made the experience feel cold and impersonal. Toward the end, I was told I needed to deposit £6,500 more than expected—an incredibly stressful surprise. After completion, I was then asked to pay an additional £130 for the Land Registry fee, even though I had already received a completion certificate. I followed up, but weeks later, I still haven’t received a response and am now worried about the status of my Land Registry. What should have been an exciting milestone turned into a five-month ordeal (with no chain on either side) due to their inefficiency and lack of professionalism. I would not recommend Beeston Shenton Solicitors to anyone looking for reliable, communicative, or supportive legal services.
