Maria was great to work with. She carefully explained everything we needed to know, and patiently and promptly answered all our questions, revising documents as we requested. We felt very comfortable working with her and reassured by her professionalism and friendliness. At times we took quite a long time to reply to her and this was never an issue. It was easy to make convenient appointments, the other staff we encountered were pleasant, we were always seen punctually, and the office was comfortable and not intimidating.

We have recently re-written our wills to nominate charities and make alterations to previous wills. I recently had a complimentary call with Joanna Longfellow at JWP. It was about a complex matter regarding wills and probate. Within minutes I felt at ease with her warm and friendly manner yet she is very good at explaining technical details in a simple and easy to understand way. She is very knowledgeable in this subject. A true professional!
I was really impressed with the way in which JWP responded to our request for help. We were offered a home visit from Fiona Haigh, who came within a couple of days. She was friendly, very reassuring, but professional, and she took all my worries and concerns on board and dealt with them in a manner that I could understand. We had wills & LPA's done with JWP, Lorna was very helpful professional & knowledgeable, she explained everything in layman's terms and made sure we understood everything, she was also very patient & understanding. Joanna also returned a call when Lorna was unavailable, after I called & she was also professional and helpful. The only reason I have dropped a star is the quality of some of the pages of the photocopied documents, they are very lopsided, and unprofessional for legal copies.

I met Jason Deakon once. That was the consultation he was late thank you for that appointment. We talked I gave him the details of my possible divorce situation. I spoke with him after I received emails regarding my wife’s intentions. After a few days we spoke on the phone. He told me I had lied about the cottage in Whitby I thought me and my wife had our names on. It turns out I wasn’t on the deeds and he told me I’d lied that shocked me. I didn’t know I never checked why would I we’ve been married 22 years and it doesn’t matter anyway. The next bomb shell was that he wasn’t familiar with North Yorkshire and I should get a solicitor from that area. I’m still annoyed that he called me a liar and wanted to fob me off. The bill came and I had a £200 phone call that was when he told me the above. I’ll pay the balance tomorrow but £909 for the service I’ve had is scandalous. He was not professional or punctual. One of the reasons that I’m not continuing with any further business with JWP is on the 14/9/26 that I have prostate cancer and an operation is required to remove the prostate. More upsetting news for me. I do hope the MD of the company has a word with MR Deakon about his manner and level of professionalism.

Mr Rathour was extremely professional, knowledgeable and supportive throughout my case. I was facing a driving ban and was understandably very worried about the outcome, but he handled everything brilliantly and managed to achieve a result that I honestly didn’t think was possible. He explained everything clearly, kept me updated throughout and made the whole process much less stressful. I would definitely recommend them to anyone looking for a solicitor who genuinely knows what they’re doing and cares about getting the best possible outcome for their clients.
