Liz Stirk handled my difficult house sale and purchase with professionalism and kindness. She kept me informed throughout a stressful ordeal and worked diligently to ensure that Completion occurred as quickly as it possibly could. No-one could have done more to quickly resolve the unexpected issues that arose. Liz's assistant Katharine was also fantastic, keeping in constant communication re progress being made; and the lovely reception team who patiently dealt with all my calls!

Happy with the overall experience although felt that we had to chase occasionally or that things might not otherwise have been moved on as quickly as they might with the conveyancing.

Eoin was really helpful and professional throughout. We used Eoin for the conveyancing on my late mother’s house and the turnaround for completion was a really tight timeline due to the purchasers needing it to complete within 5 or 6 weeks (over Christmas too!). Eoin did everything needed throughout and kept us up to speed with what was happening. I can’t recommend Eoin highly enough.

The advice provided was contradicted by two independent surveyors and a secondary firm (Lodders). We were even billed for an unauthorised third-party call in which the solicitor made defamous remarks about our character. As disproven by the above solicitor and according to the two surveyor's report,
We are sorry to hear that you feel dissatisfied with your experience and acknowledge how frustrating construction defect disputes can be. From the outset, we were clear about the complexity, cost and litigation risks involved in pursuing a negligence claim against a large national housebuilder and we repeatedly advised that outcomes in such cases must be grounded in expert evidence and realistic legal principles. We also explained the need for suitably qualified and independent expert witnesses willing to comply with their duties to the court. Throughout our retainer, we assisted with reviewing available evidence, advising on appropriate experts, and liaising with surveyors and other professionals at your request. Multiple experts approached expressed reservations about the scope and direction of the proposed claim and some declined to act due to concerns around prior remedial works and the remedies being sought. These decisions were entirely independent of our firm and reflected the experts’ professional obligations. We also sought to keep costs proportionate and transparent, taking into account your consistent emphasis on minimising expenditure. Despite significant work being undertaken on your behalf, communication later ceased and payment of invoices was delayed. A reduction in fees and waiver of contractual interest were ultimately offered purely as a commercial resolution. It is regrettable that your wider frustrations with a difficult and expert-led process appear to have been directed towards us. We remain confident that our advice was careful, professional and properly focused on what the law and independent evidence could realistically support. We are always open to constructive dialogue and have a formal complaints procedure, which is available on our website should concerns arise during a matter.

Liz Stirk was absolutely wonderful looking after our home move. I have never had a property transaction go so smoothly. The fact that the deceased did not make a will made the administration more difficult. The incompetence of the court added to the time taken. The input from Ryan McCormack the paralegal was first class and greatly appreciated.
