Mark joined Slater Heelis in 2025 to head up our Commercial Litigation team and is based mainly in our Sale office. Mark has a broad spectrum of legal experience having worked within the legal profession since 1999. Mark initially qualified as a Barrister, being called to the Bar in 1997. Working in a Law Firm, Mark also qualified as a Solicitor, being entered on to the Roll of Solicitors in November 2001. Throughout his career, Mark has been an avid litigator and Court advocate. Therefore, in 2021, Mark obtained his higher rights of audience, which enables him to represent his clients in civil Court at all levels. Mark has gained particular expertise in shareholder disputes, construction disputes, copyright and exclusivity disputes along with other breaches of contract and commercial disputes. Mark also has a keen interest in contentious probate, debt claims and professional negligence claims. Mark has acted as both Claimant and Defendant and has conducted cases in the County Court, High Court, Business and Property Court and Intellectual Property and Enterprise Court. Mark has also acted for clients with disputes outside of England and Wales as well as those within multiple jurisdictions.

Took the stress out of litigation and gave us confidence.

From initial consultation to resolution, Mark Gough took all of the worry and stress out of the whole situation. His advice was pragmatic and he gave us realistic expectations all along.
