I am a partner at Butcher and Barlow and both a practising Solicitor and Notary Public. I graduated from University in 1998 having obtained a first class honours degree in Law and then attended the Legal Practice Course at the College of Law in Chester before joining Butcher and Barlow as a trainee solicitor over 20 years ago. Although practising as an employment lawyer for much of my working life, I became increasingly involved in matters being dealt with by our Corporate & Commercial Team and developed an additional specialism in corporate practice. In recent years, I have been leading on many high-value transactions including multi-million-pound acquisitions and disposals. As the recently appointed Head of Corporate & Commercial at the Firm, I regularly deal with both asset sales and purchases, share sales and purchases and general commercial contracts whilst retaining a keen interest in and overall responsibility for the employment work given my substantial experience in that field. In my employment practice, I am regularly instructed by clients ranging from very small/start-up companies to HR departments of multinational companies including companies whose parent offices are in the US, China and the Netherlands. I have recently moved my primary office to the dedicated commercial and agricultural office at Gadbrook Park in Northwich but retain an office in Bramhall where I continue to meet the clients I have built relationships within the Stockport area for many years. I am a member of the Employment lawyers association and also the Notaries Society. As a Notary, I authenticate facts and documents for international transactions acting for individuals through to multi-national PLC’s with overseas offices.

    Happy with everything

    I have dealt with several of the partners and staff at Butcher and Barlow over the last seven years and have been delighted by their approachable, helpful nature and their high professional standards. Having spent 40 years in business, including 20 years running my own, I know that finding a reliable law firm is not easy, and I wish I had discovered them sooner. Although Butcher and Barlow are not local to me and I haven’t used them for my business, they have handled a number of different issues exceptionally well. I would not hesitate to recommend them.
