I engaged with this company in order to have legal representation for the purchase of a property and also, to support with the buy out of an existing property.
Matt Watson was appointed as my solicitor to act on my behalf and I have been blown away by his dedication, support and timeliness throughout the whole process.
Matt completely went above and beyond throughout. He was always available for me to ask (mostly silly) questions and nothing was ever too much trouble. Having never purchased a house alone before, some of the documentation and requirements for me were confusing. Matt answered all of my questions promptly with nothing but support and reassurance.

In addition to this, I know that Matt also worked outside of his business hours to progress my case. There were a lot of moving parts with my particular case as I had my purchase as well as needing to be bought out of my current property. Matt made the synchronisation between parties look like an absolute breeze. I was always kept up to speed with any movements on my case and I even had documentation completed and sent to me for signing on a Sunday! I know for certain that not many solicitors would do the same.

In the end, the whole process took about 8 weeks which to me, is a huge achievement. Matt has exceeded my expectations at every stage and I can't thank him enough for his time, patience and support throughout what is quite a stressful event!

I recently had the opportunity to work with Butcher and Barlow for the transfer and re-mortgage of my house, and I cannot speak highly enough of the service I received. My case was particularly challenging as I had been dealing with the probate (via another solicitor) of my grandfather's will for nearly three years. Ella oversaw the sale of my mum's property and was always very helpful and supportive throughout. In the early stages of the sale there were some issues with the leasehold which took a lot of sorting with the land registry and we felt that we did have to do quite a bit of chasing on this with the solicitor assigned to this case but Ella bridged the gap for us on this and kept us updated on a regular basis. Overall though the service we received from Ella was excellent.

What should of been a simple transaction proved to be really difficult due to the buyers solicitor, this was no reflection on Butcher and Barlow at all, they kept my informed on progress and responded to all of my questions when I asked them. Our contact at Butcher and Barlow was Ella Woodier. Due to the impact of the housing market the sale of our house took a relatively long time. Ella was very supportive throughout this time. Due to medical reasons we had to move before the sale took place but Ella kept us informed of any problems and their solutions. When you are over 250 miles away such support is a big assistance.
We have moved house a number of times and have never had such support and communications.
Normally you are only contacted at the beginning and end of the sale.
