I joined Butcher & Barlow in January 2021 as a Paralegal in the Commercial Dispute Resolution department based at our dedicated commercial office at Gadbrook Park, where I assisted the Head of Litigation, Alex Sandland on a range of Commercial Litigation matters. I also worked within the specialist Property Dispute department with a particular focus on landlord and tenant disputes, both residential and commercial. I am now a Commercial Property and Construction Trainee Solicitor based in our Bramhall office assisting Rachel Martin, Partner and Co-Head of the Commercial Property department and Jo Ormiston, Senior Construction Solicitor. I completed my LLB at Manchester Metropolitan University where I graduated with a 2.1 and proceeded to study the Legal Practice Course alongside a Masters of Laws in Legal Practice which I completed in January 2021. I have a keen interest in charitable work and have volunteered with East Cheshire Hospice since 2017. I have sat on the committee for the ‘Friends of Baguley Hall’ as the heritage coordinator since May 2019 and I have recently been appointed as a Trustee for the group. We have been engaging with Historic England, English Heritage and the local community to secure a future for the magnificent grade 1 listed medieval hall. My interests outside the office include visiting historical sites of interest and museums, in my spare time I enjoy walking around the Peak District and reading.

    Resolving a parking dispute with my neighbour

    I contacted Butcher and Barlow, as I have used these solicitors for many years, with my will and POA. I was directed to Paige Lester and was able to get an immediate face to face appointment to see her. At the time, I just needed advice, as I was lost as to how to resolve my problem. Paige immediately understood the problem and pointed me in the right direction to hopefully resolve the issue. After exploring what she suggested, we found an area in my Transfer Documents, which spelled out what could be actioned. Paige complied a letter to this effect and it was then sent to my neighbour. Since then, the problem seems to have been resolved and I am hoping this will continue. I can't thank Paige enough for all her wisdom and help and I know that if the problem should return, that I can go back to her for more help.
