Please read before you use PCS

Please do not use this company. You will end up frustrated, let down and wishing you had read the reviews first. We were allocated the handler, Paige Bekir. Over the months we dealt with PCS, her lack of responses and complete ignoring of requests for information have worsened the situation which is already stressful enough. The only way we could get her to respond was to copy in the complaint email address and several other email addresses within the business. We were promised time and time again that things would improve and yet they did not, it does beg the question, why have a complaints department? The icing on the cake was when we came to completion there was an issue with the firm's bank account. Paige went home at 3 pm on Friday without letting us know or any other member of her team that we were still owed the outstanding funds (£500,000) It took me calling 3 different branches of PCS from 4 pm to 4:55 pm to get the funds released. I work for a software company as a customer director and cannot understand how this level of service can be allowed on this day of such high competition.

One-Star Review for PCS

I am extremely unhappy with my experience at PCS. First, I was charged £6.00 for “Office Copies” without any notification. Paige O'Brien and her team, Henna Villamor did not inform me of this error and just deducted the money without any paperwork. This makes me feel like a victim of fraudlike and very concerned.

Additionally, I now feel compelled to recheck all my statements and transactions to ensure no other amounts have been deducted without proper documentation. This is time-consuming and frustrating.

There was also an error on my bill where VAT was added twice, resulting in a discrepancy of nearly £150. I had to bring this to Paige's attention for it to be rectified.

The email responses I received were unprofessional and conflicting, leading to delays in my transaction. I was mistakenly informed that the buyer would withdraw if the paperwork was not completed within three days, causing unnecessary stress. Moreover, I had to request explanations for my searches three times because the report I received was generic and did not address any of the flagged areas.

Lastly, I have not been informed when the remaining balance of £251.26 will be returned to me. Overall, my experience with PCS has been extremely disappointing and stressful. Would avoid at all costs. Pay extra and pick a local company.

My previous experience with other solicitors had all been poor - that everything would take ages, that they were impossible to get hold of. Seeking an alternative, I went online and PCS came top of the list for recommended solicitors. I have been thankful for that ever since - throughout the process for which I hired them they have been efficient, replied promptly to all my communication, and kept me fully informed.

I cannot believe how incredible this team have been!

From start to finish, we have not had a single hiccup. Eleanor & her team dealt with our case so professionally, on time and were so helpful, especially as we were buying our first home and did not have a clue about the legal information! I literally cannot recommend PCS Legal enough, and although we received cheaper quotes, we are SO glad we went with PCS because they have been nothing short of amazing! I especially liked the online portal that I could log in to, check the milestone tracker of our case, and message our solicitors via the handy message app instead of going back and forth on emails and phone calls! I had heard horror stories about nightmare solicitors, so went into it feeling quite skeptical, but they've absolutely changed our minds, and we will 100% be using them going forward!! A special mention to Alanna R who dealt with the majority of our enquiries - you are incredible!

1. Unanswered messages after 4 days.
2. Couldn't get through to extension as mailbox full.
3. Waiting for operator randomly got cuttoff after waiting for upwards of 30 minutes.

This is the second time we have used PCS and they did not disappoint. Our main contact Adam Hennessy was responsive, helpful and always took action when needed. In stressful times of a house move you need a conveyancer who is going to chase, react and move your sale/purchase forward, PCS did this. Even when Adam was not available his assistant, Rebecca, was able to pick up and keep us updated (unlike many conveyancers who pause the process as they are not around). There was even a stand in conveyancer during Adams holiday who progressed our sale/purchase swiftly without causing any delays.

I would recommend PCS without any doubt and would certainly use again if needed. Even though they are not local to us, it made no difference to the speed or process, as the bulk of work is electronic and email so no on site visits required.

Very happy customer, now in our new home:-)

Overall a really positive experience with PCS. Very cost effective, in general, quick to respond, easy to work with and seemed to progress my case file at a good rate. Once or twice there were some crossed wires but that's to be expected when interacting predominantly via email and with multiple contacts in the same team. Overall very happy and would recommend and use again.
