Curwens was recommended to me by a friend and Anne Stennet was very friendly but professional dealing with my mum’s probate. It’s a very difficult time but was made easier for me because of their easy and prompt manner of working. I am very happy and now using the company for eventual sale of my mum’s house.

Since my solictor retired i was looking for a solicitor ,so i contacted Curwens ,to review my will , but due to unforseen cicumtances i needed to make a new will and power of attorney ,.I was fortunate to meet Alexandra when we met she made comfortable and at ease .She took the time to explain everything clearely , so she made my will and power of attorney,She is very proffecional ,kind ,she kept me inform all the time ,she made me feel valued , and when i call her she called me back , she is so good my son decided to make his will. With regards to changing the executors of my Will I received efficient service from Asher Bennett via the North Finchley office. Asher responded to my emails promptly and the legal service was turned around in quick time at a reasonable rate.

I used Jeff at Curwens for Probate on my mother’s estate because he had written my mother’s Will. My mother was a ‘value for money, no frills’ person and this is exactly the service that Curwens offer. Jeff was knowledgeable, thorough and always quick to respond to questions and when I told a friend how much I was being charged, they were impressed by how cheap it was and it’s only now, that I understand why it was so cheap, because I was paying a fixed fee for Jeff and his team (who were also excellent) to ‘apply for probate ONLY’ which is exactly what they did and did it well. However, in that initial consultation with Jeff, I was never made aware that there was WAY MORE to dealing with someone’s estate than just applying for probate and in all honesty, had I realised how much pain I was about to face over many months of trying to deal with, and unpick the exceedingly complicated finances that my mother had left me, then I most certainly would have employed Curwens to do the whole job (I wasn’t aware that was an option and I should have been made aware). Anybody facing the same situation that I did, please realise that financial institutions DO NOT want to deal with executors and they make life as difficult as possible, they obviously would deal with solicitors much more favourably. This is the route we are taking with my father’s affairs, even though it’s much less complicated and this allows me time to grieve, a luxury I had to do without for my mother. I have no doubt that had Jeff and his team taken on the whole task then they would have made a fine job of it.

I have been to Curwens for both my will and a Declaration of Trust document. On both occasions, I found the solicitors to be extremely knowledgeable and helpful. No question was too 'daft' and responses to phone calls and to emails, were prompt and always answered my queries. Not only was everything completed to a high standard; I was also able to work on a fixed fee basis which meant that, despite my asking thousands of questions and fretting over things, the costs didn't spiral and remained affordable. Everything sorted now and I am 100% delighted with the services from Curwens. Alexandra is a particular superstar!

I approached Curwens when my late Aunt was in a Care Home and found them immediately to be of fantastic assistance in every way right from when my Aunt passed away to Probate and then the eventual sale of her Property. Bradley, Anne and the whole team were absolutely brilliant all the way through, helping me with paperwork, keeping me fully posted in every way and explaining things that I did not understand fully. They all work together very well indeed and everyone knows their role and fits directly into it.
