They told me what i already new and did not want to accept that I signed a contract and onerous parts were not pointed out to me prior to signing. I understand it is the duty of a a person to point out any onerous points and a contract would be void if this was not done.
We are sorry that you were disappointed that the advice of our Dispute Resolution team did not align with the outcome you had hoped for. As solicitors, we are limited in what we can say publicly about a client's matter. However, we can confirm that Maitland Walker was not involved in the original shared ownership purchase referred to and was instructed only to provide advice on the terms of the contract after it had been entered into, and on considering exit. Following a review of the available documentation and the relevant legal position, we provided our professional opinion that the relevant terms of the contract were clearly stated and were sufficiently brought to your attention prior to the contract being entered into. That advice remains unchanged. We appreciate that our legal advice will not always align with a client's expectations, but our duty is to provide an accurate and independent assessment of the circumstances presented to us. We are sorry that the shared ownership arrangement did not work out how you may have wished.

Kirsty was brilliant and we will definitely recommend to others purchasing a house. Really clear communication throughout. When choosing our solicitors to help us with the purchase of our first home we had heard horror stories of long waits for communication but we received regular thorough, clear and helpful updates throughout the process which was such a relief!

You have a fairly rude and unhelpful receptionist - uninterested in acquiring new business for your firm - literally put a phone down on me.
We are sorry that you had a negative experience whilst requesting a quote for legal services. Unfortunately we have to obtain certain information about a proposed transaction in order to provide an accurate quote. Our aim is always to provide a professional service and part of this is to ensure that quotes for fixed fee work are as accurate as possible. This in turn provides clients with as much certainty as we can from the outset.
Trying to find Solsisters as a first time buyer so new to all this , and the reception lady was very very rude and snobby! Don’t go with these people!!
After 2 failed purchase attempts, we finally completed on our first home in January - all thanks to Faith & Katie at Maitland Walker. We never had to wait more than a day for a response, they were proactive, concise & detailed with information, chasing the sellers without prompting, helped us decide when to pull out of the other houses (both times issues on the seller’s & property side) and moved us from offer to completion on our new home in 3 months - even with Christmas & New Years in between. After hearing so many horror stories about solicitors & home buying, we couldn’t have been any happier than having Faith on our side!
