My experience with Malcolm C Foy & Co dealing with Donna Moore, the "Head of New Build Property," and her assistant Kelly Jones, left a lot to be desired. I think it's important to share my story so they can hopefully learn from it.
Sadly, dealing with Donna Moore and Kelly Jones didn't meet the professional standards I was expecting. Communication was lacking, and there were times when they came off as rude. Instead of working together to get the paperwork sorted, they were more bossy, almost like they were the bosses and we were the employees. It was frustrating because by the time we realised how they operated, we were already committed to them and had paid a big chunk of the fee, so switching wasn't really an option—a move they seemed to count on.
What really got to me was how they didn't explain why they needed certain things that seemed unrelated to the case. Instead of communicating, they just made demands and threats, which made things tense. It was clear that our needs weren't their priority, but rather, their own agenda.
I do understand that finding a good solicitor can be tough, and everyone's experience can be different. But based on what I went through, I'd be cautious about dealing with Donna Moore, Kelly Jones, or anyone connected to Malcolm C Foy & Co.

We are disappointed with these comments, particularly in view of the efforts that were made to resolve all issues based on changing information. No formal complaint was raised, which would have given us the opportunity for us to address these matters directly with the client. We have contacted this client directly to try to discuss matters further, but have not received a response.

I have come across some positive reviews on this platform, although my personal experience with Malcolm C Foy & Co, particularly with Donna Moore, the "Head of New Build Property," and her assistant Kelly Jones, was quite disappointing. I feel compelled to share my experience in the hope that it provides constructive feedback for improvement. Most positive reviews are short and meaningless to some extent, so I am unsure how much they actually represent reality.
Regrettably, my interaction with Donna Moore and Kelly Jones was not in line with the professional standards I expected. Communication was lacking, and there were instances of perceived rudeness. Rather than fostering a collaborative atmosphere to gather necessary paperwork, their approach seemed more authoritarian, using threats and treating us as though they were the clients, and we were the service providers. Unfortunately, by the time this behaviour became apparent, we had already committed to their services, having paid a substantial portion of the fee, making it financially impractical to switch providers—a tactic that seems to be exploited.
What was particularly frustrating was the absence of clear communication regarding the reasons behind certain requests that appeared unrelated to the matter at hand. Instead of providing explanations, demands and threats were issued, creating an uncomfortable dynamic. It became evident that our interests were not being prioritised, but rather, their own.
I acknowledge the challenges of finding a reliable solicitor, and I am mindful that experiences can vary. However, based on my personal encounter, I would exercise caution when considering Donna Moore, Kelly Jones, or anyone associated with Malcolm C Foy & Co.

Excellent service from Vanessa and Jessica at the Doncaster branch in the recent purchase of my new home, they kept me updated throughout the process and were very proactive in getting things done, There was no need for me to do any chasing and I left it to them I was always aware of each stage without having to ask.

Irrevocable Trust: Deed of Appointment
Advice was sought from Malcolm C Foy & Co regarding the terms and conditions relating to a Trust, particularly over the deed of appointment of trustees and their responsibilities etc.
Advice was given by Mrs Sarah Elizabeth Thiede over the issues at hand. I was particularly impressed by the way she translated her briefing into a suite of actions demonstrating a detailed understanding of the issues in question.
Her actions were both precise and concise and at all times she ensured there was frequent communication between herself and her Client. Indeed in conclusion she offered additional advice as to what actions could be taken to achieve her Clients objectives.
I have over the years engaged numerous law practices and there is no doubt that Mrs Theide demonstrated all facets of offering a best in class service to her Client whist ensuring that customer satisfaction throughout the process was guaranteed. Lastly I would add at very reasonable fee rates.
