Top 10 of 849 law firms for Criminal Court of Appeal, Appeals Law

Law firms ranked by client reviews

In England, the Criminal Court of Appeal hears appeals against conviction or sentence in serious criminal cases, via the Criminal Division of the Court of Appeal. A solicitor commonly drafts grounds of appeal, prepares the appeal bundle, applies for leave to appeal, and represents the client in written submissions and, where required, at the hearing. The work centers on identifying errors of law or misdirections, misapplication of sentencing guidelines, or new evidence that might affect the outcome, and on coordinating with counsel for the hearing.

What a solicitor handles in these matters

An appeal hinges on precise legal grounds, the admissibility and impact of new or fresh evidence, and the correct application of sentencing law. The solicitor handles ground of appeal preparation, bundle production, exchange of submissions with the Crown Prosecution Service, and, if allowed, advocacy support within the Court of Appeal. Compliance with strict time limits and procedure, including leave to appeal and potential remittal to a higher court, shapes strategy and pace.

Yes/no satisfied of the outcome because I know I was pushed to plea guilty because the barrister said the jury will find me guilty even if I didn't do anything. My solicitor at WhiteRoseBlackmans told me to plea not guilty because no evidence on one matter but never did anything wrong to the other matter either. Just silly things I said. I am going to wait until I get out to see if I can overthrow my convictions. Can't believe the jury would find me guilty on no evidence. I should have never been put in here because of what I went through in my childhood in the 80s, been let down like children are today getting blamed for something not their fault.
