I was named as an executor of my sister-in-laws will. I was not a beneficiary and I knew that there was animosity and conflict between three beneficiaries. My intention was to renounce the executorship to avoid anticipated stresses for myself and the other executor. An alternative was suggested by Fakruddin and that was for Slater Heelis to undertake the executorship through power of attorney as it would help the family to execute the will, avoiding large legal fees for the beneficiaries and bringing a close to the matter. I decided to take this option and I am pleased with my decision and the handling of the whole process by Fakruddin. The process took longer than anticipated and there were disagreements between the beneficiaries that Fakruddin helped to navigate and find solutions. Fakruddin was able to decide upon which issues required escalation to other expert departments within Slater Heelis and made the right decisions upon when these were required. Throughout the whole process communications between Fakruddin and myself were good and whilst the process was frustrating at times and circumstances beyond our control extended the timeframe that we would both have liked, Fakruddin took the stress out of the situation and calm, professional decision and timeframes were managed. Whilst relations with the beneficiaries were not always harmonious, agreements and consensuses were achieved with the avoidance of conflict. This was the objective of engaging Slater Heelis and this was achieved. I doubt very much that the beneficiaries would have been able to achieve this result in the same time frame and for anything like the cost incurred. Thank you Fakruddin
