A Ward of Court is someone placed under the protection of the Court of Protection when they cannot manage their own affairs. A solicitor helps with applications to appoint a deputy to run the person’s property, money and affairs, and to make or supervise care decisions on their behalf. Work can involve gathering medical and financial information, preparing reports for the court, and handling ongoing accounts and annual reviews.

“Two years ago I used the services of Slater Heelis to arrange a Capacity Assessment for my sister and just recently a Deed of Variation for her will. Prior to that I had used the services of Towns Neesham, a firm who later joined with SLater Heelis, where they had dealt with the purchase of father's house, the subsequent transfer of ownership to my sister, prepared my sisters will and later dealt with the sale of her house. I have every confidence in the excellent services and guidance given by the Slater Heelis solicitors and I would use the firm again.”

“Our life has changed immensely for the better now that our daughter has been granted a special school placement. Whereas before there was no hope we can look towards a brighter future - our daughter now able to access education and her mental health is improving every day. I cannot put into words how grateful I am for Samantha and Trudi's help in this matter, I don't know where we would have been without them! Samantha was so patient with us and seemed to genuinely understand the issues we faced. She offered a lot of practical advice and was there with us every step of the way during this long and horrible process. She has given us our lives back as our daughter is thriving both in and out of school. I only wish we had contacted her sooner.”
