Dyslexia as a disability focuses on rights against discrimination in work and access to services, and in education settings under the Equality Act 2010 and related duties. A solicitor helps with workplace adjustments, recruitment challenges, and reasonable accommodations, and can pursue claims in the employment tribunal or county court. They collect evidence, draft and respond to formal notices, negotiate settlements, and advise on witnesses and expert reports. The work is shaped by how disability discrimination and accommodation rules apply in practice.

“My need for a solicitor was for relatively straight forward employment legal advice. Shazia showed she had lots of experience and knowledge that was both simple to understand, with clarity and raised important points. I dont think I could have got a better outcome tbh. The main area I want to praise the team for was the fact I am someone with Neurodivergence and suffer greatly with Anxiety. For anybody that suffers with either of those things understands just how intimidating and scary the world can feel, let alone needing to get a solicitor. But Shazia and those that assisted her were accommodating to my needs, none-judgemental and showed understanding. My initial contact was with Leah the support assistant, she was friendly, patient and gave me a lot of information, answering my questions, putting me at ease, without making me feel pressured into anything. If not for her I would never have got past the first stage. Then as it progressed and I interacted with Shazia, she continued that on, plus added to that with her knowledge and experience. Highly recommended.”

“I was in a very difficult relationship with my former employers which was adversely affecting my health, complicated by my disability. Gareth helped me quickly in a really sensitive and supportive manner in resolving a settlement agreement. I can highly recommend him if you need help with this ”

“I cannot recommend Vicky Withers highly enough. From the very beginning, she was exceptional — professional, compassionate, and incredibly knowledgeable. Vicky has a deep understanding of disability rights and the realities faced by disabled parents, which made an enormous difference throughout what was an extremely difficult and emotional process. She took the time to truly listen, never made assumptions, and ensured my voice was heard at every stage. Her approach was not only legally robust but also human — she understood how systems can fail disabled people and worked tirelessly to challenge that. I always felt supported, respected, and reassured, even during the most stressful moments. Vicky explained everything clearly, advocated fiercely on my behalf, and handled complex issues with calm confidence and precision. Thanks to her dedication and expertise, I felt empowered rather than overwhelmed. She is an outstanding solicitor and an incredible advocate. I am deeply grateful for her support and would recommend her without hesitation to anyone, especially disabled clients who need someone who genuinely understands their rights and will fight for them.”
