Drug Impaired Driving covers the offence of driving or attempting to drive while impaired by drugs, or having drugs in the bloodstream at illegal levels. A solicitor in this area handles the case from police bail through to trial, advising on the strength of the evidential and expert scientific issues, and drafting and presenting defences or representations. They may challenge roadside tests, medical evidence, or laboratory results, and negotiate with prosecutors about charges or penalties where appropriate.
The specific acts at issue include proving impairment or illegal drug levels and challenging the reliability of testing methods. A solicitor safeguards the client’s position by scrutinising laboratory certificates, expert reports, and chain of custody, and by framing arguments about causation, look-back periods, and any potential mitigating factors.

Tagged solicitor Paris Phillips-Morris
I used Paris as my solicitor for a Drink-driving offence I had committed. I found her and the rest of the team at Ashtons Legal LLP very professional and also supportive in assisting me with it. I would have no hesitation recommending her services.
