Declarations of Parentage cover the factual question of who is a child’s parent, and can provide a formal judicial finding of parentage for a child where it is disputed or uncertain. In England, a solicitor helps clients obtain a court declaration that establishes parentage for a child, enabling rights to contact, inheritance or the child’s welfare arrangements to be settled on a clear footing.
