Law firms ranked by client reviews

This area covers how English courts determine which law applies in cross‑border disputes, where a case should be heard, and how foreign judgments are recognised and enforced. It also deals with international issues arising from commercial contracts, torts, property, and family matters that cross national borders. A solicitor practising in this area drafts and negotiates choice‑of‑law and forum clauses, assesses jurisdiction, and coordinates cross‑border proceedings, including service of documents and applying for English court orders. It shapes how international disputes are started, pursued and resolved in England and Wales.

What a solicitor handles in these matters

A solicitor handles the specific rules that determine which law applies, which court has jurisdiction, and how foreign judgments are recognised or enforced in England. They review and draft contract terms (including Rome I/II considerations and other contemporary cross‑border rules), advise on forum selection, prepare and file pleadings in the appropriate court, apply for discovery or interlocutory relief where needed, and liaise with foreign counsel to coordinate enforcement or recognition of judgments in English courts.

Harry Coombe

First of all, sorry for the review being so late. I was looking g to buy my first house, I found a house I liked, put an offer in which was accepted, then I had the tricky part of finding a solicitor. After a little researching, I eventually went with Ronald Fletcher Baker which was recommended by Bradley's. I've heard a few stories how solicitors can take their time and not really be 'on the ball', but Harry was nothing short of excellent. The first time I went in the office he put my mind at ease and I knew I was in good hands. Every time I emailed him, he would reply practically instantly. Not only that, I asked him if we could make the sale before Christmas and I could tell he made it his goal to do that, which he did and I was so pleased, else it would of then been in the New Year. Couldn't of asked for anything more from Harry. Top notch job and also a very friendly man. Again, apologies about it being so late.
