In today's World I would strongly suggest you choose wisely...do your homework - sadly we didn't. When firms work on targets, and promotion! (that can be your hard earned cash) - make or break for normal people. Wish I knew what I know now....commercial nightmare costing us over £100k and nearly our home... check your own business insurance - they didn't!!@ Even when this man was just a humble commercial solicitor his personal secretary left in a cloud? She was always lovely, but he was not! His trainee solicitors did not trust him! Now Top Man in the Firm (partly due to our demise), not to be trusted! PLEASE, do your homework. We had commercial insurance in place and paid £300/mth. Insurance company told us we were not covered. We spoke to the commercial solicitor at that time. He was more interested in us paying will borrowed money - he could charge more without question. Said litigation would cost £50k. Cost over £100k. When we wound up the company we then found out we had a legitimate claim. We personally lost over £100k + and very nearly our home. We are still paying this debt today 2023! Because we had wound up the company we could not claim costs from the insurance, thanks to no help from the solicitor at the start or the end, over nearly 5 very long stressful years.
