With a lot of perseverence after the chain collapsed and was reformed. Our solicitor got it over the line despite the buyer’s solicitor going on holiday on the day we exchanged having not briefed anyone!

We purchased our new home before we marketed our existing property. Penmans worked to ensure both the sale and the purchase proceeded in a timely manner, and ensure that we understood the legalities of what we were doing. They also managed to bring both the sale and purchase together at the end of the process, ensuring that we didn't own multiple properties. Excellent service, friendly and efficient.

Both the sale and purchase were handled extremely well. I sold my property first, then purchased a property. The estate agent who I sold my property through said it was one of the quickest sales they'd had. The agents who I purchased a house through said it was the fastest sale this year - from offer to completion it only took 36 days! She has been incredible! She has made a complicated relocation such a straightforward process.

First time buyers and Christie held our hands throughout the complicated process, Christie did a great job explaining things in a simplified way. Despite hearing horror stories about how slow/poor communicators solicitors can be, Christie proved that you can indeed have proactive and friendly solicitors - would highly recommend.

I found them to be very helpful - particularly Liz and Christie. But the conveyancing team was badly let down when two others represented the buyer of the house we were selling. Matters not properly dealt with, silence when one went on holiday, then the other solicitor made things very difficult for both her client and us. Difficult and rude, she was also unprofessional - ignored requests for updates from her own client, caused a huge amount of stress for both the buyers and us, and I even caught her badmouthing me in an email to the estate agent and our solicitor. Very stressful and upsetting when it really didn’t need to be. I felt so sorry for our buyer - they kept apologising and we had to keep telling them not to worry as we knew it wasn’t their fault.

We have used Penmans Solicitors to sell our property on many occasions with a great deal of success. Unfortunately, on this occasion our experience was not great. There had been a number of staff changes which put extreme pressure on the solicitor employed by us and as a result there were many delays and a frustrating number of times we had to chase for action to be done.
