Always answers emails or calls back promptly. A little disappointed when trying to make original appointment to be told it was 4 weeks for a face to face meeting. Other than that, 100% pleased with the service.

I've been a good customer to Penman's, using them for my first house purchase in 2017 and coming straight back to them to complete a house sale and purchase this month. I've spent thousands. Even recommended my brother to this firm who used it for his house purchase a few years ago (in fact he's even left a 5* review). Charles Glover who just completed my purchase and sale was great, can't fault him really. Unfortunately my experience was just tainted completely as I was hit with a £150+VAT cancellation charge for some paperwork I changed my mind on which was originally costing £300+VAT on completion. A basic declaration of trust form. Besides an initial conversation and apparently a draft I really didn't think much had been done with it hence my disappointment. Furthermore, I was in discussions to draw out a will with Penman's. I expressed my dissatisfaction explaining my history as a customer with this firm, and the fact I was going to spend more money with them - unfortunately they opted to proceed with charging me £150+VAT cancellation rather than do what most would consider logical, which is take more business from a willing customer which in turn would earn the firm more. Terrible customer service in this moment to ruin the whole experience - and a shame as my brother is just starting the process to start his house sale...

Appalling. Nearly ten months later they are still failing to settle a will. They persistently ignore emails and phone calls. When I finally got a reply, they were chasing me off the phone without a care in the world, but admitted 'short staffing' was an issue. I will be moving to an Ombudsman complaint next week to attempt not only to get them to pay out the money they appear to be sitting on or not gathering in, but also to hand over information legally requested from them which they are ignoring/ghosting demands for. I note another review from a month ago advising they were ghosted by them also. When a private company starts ghosting calls and not paying out, it's a serious red flag. Unprofessional, unacceptable and beyond infuriating to deal with. Avoid.

Since losing my Aunt, they have been talking care of all the legal affairs. Doing an excellent job. If the one thing they could improve, is a courtesy call every so often. But apart from that highly recommend
