Navigating me through a divorce
I turned to Slater Heelis, after using the company for conveyancing work on house purchases in the past, to help me with an unwanted divorce on my behalf that came as a shock to my children and I, when their mother left us. At this bewildering time, I was put in touch with Gabriella Basiuk, who was about to complete her final qualifications (I think!) into this area of work. Even though the agreement between myself and my ex wife was relatively straightforward, there were a few twists and turns along the way.
Quite simply Gabriella was fantastic. From our first video call, she was reassuring, informative, knowledgable and understanding. As the divorce progressed, she was always available for a phone call, and responded to emails promptly. She understood my working hours and tried to work around them. I always felt that my best interests were being looked after by Gabriella. Comfortable in the knowledge she was looking after my best interests. She continued to show great knowledge of the situation, and the process. I didn’t always understand the terminology of the process, but Gabriella always took as much time as I needed to explain what was going on. She is a credit to Slater Heelis, and they should feel lucky to have her. It’s sad for my children and I that we had to have contact with Gabriella in the first instance, but I am incredibly grateful for how much she has helped us.
I am not sure if Slater Heelis operates a system where this can be shared with Gabriella, but it would be my wish that she did receive the feedback. I will thank her personally when I get the chance.

Brilliant team and service
Working with Mark and Gabriella has been an absolute pleasure. They both exude professionalism and expertise while also showing genuine empathy during a particularly stressful situation. I contacted Mark during a very confusing and stressful time, and he quickly and promptly understood my situation and guided me through the process. It was an experience
Just hard to understand their language when you’ve never had to deal with solicitors, they know what they’re saying but I didn’t a lot of the time which put costs up. They did get the job done & I would recommend them.
