Madeleine Harrington

Associate Solicitor

Accepting new clients via ReviewSolicitors

Madeleine qualified as a solicitor in 2008 and has worked at a number of highly regarded law firms in Oxfordshire and Buckinghamshire prior to relocating to the Isle of Wight and joining Churchers in June 2024. Madeleine gained considerable experience in a variety of family law matters including divorce and separation, financial arrangements, children matters, pre nuptial and post nuptial agreements and family mediation. Madeleine's experience includes acting for mid and high net worth individuals, as well as individuals with modest assets and income. Madeleine also has significant experience representing parents and grandparents in complex private law children matters (involving domestic abuse, findings of fact, parental alienation, high conflict and intractable disputes). Madeleine believes that it is possible to make a positive choice to separate in a non-confrontational manner. She promotes non-court options wherever possible, strongly believing that these offer the best outcomes for a family and that court proceedings should only be a last resort. Having gone through her own divorce, Madeleine understands the emotional impact that separating has on the individual and as a family. Madeleine has trained as a divorce coach to help offer emotional and practical support to clients in addition to legal advice. Madeleine encourages her clients to separate with dignity and to focus on a more positive future and is a collaboratively trained lawyer.

Excellent service from start to finish

The service I received from everyone at Churchers was second to none. Madeleine and her team supported me the whole way through the process and during some difficult times. I can’t recommend them enough.

Churchers solicitors

I was extremely impressed with how friendly, helpful and reasonable Madeline Harrison and her staff were. Any questions were answered promptly and in the friendliest of manner and I would most certainly use them again should the need arise.

From the moment Madaline took over my case, I finally felt like I was in safe hands. She was thrown in at the deep end, but she was organised, proactive, and completely on the ball. She quickly got to grips with everything, kept me informed, and gave me confidence that I could trust her to fight for me. Unfortunately, my experience with the first solicitor at this firm who handled my case was very different. After six months, I felt like I had got nowhere. There were several mistakes, communication was poor, they spent a lot of time out of the office and passing my case around to various other people whilst away on holidays this was the majority of the time. I found the whole experience incredibly frustrating and lost my trust. Madaline completely turned things around. She restored my confidence, worked tirelessly on my case, and I genuinely felt she was fighting for me every step of the way. Her professionalism, dedication, and compassion have made all the difference, and I can’t thank her enough. She is a real credit to the firm. I gave 4 stars only because of my beginning experience with this firm if I had had Madaline the whole way through it would have been a solid 5 stars. I absolutely would recommend her to anyone going forward she was down to earth, kind and I’m very grateful for her compassion towards my situation.
