For several years I was preparing for retirement and the sale of my business. I had very specific requirements regarding the type of buyer I wanted to sell to, in particular regarding the treatment of my clients and my staff. Corri Pedrick and her team at Kitson Boyce LLP acted with complete professionalism providing me with invaluable and essential advice and back up during the negotiations from inception to completion and execution of the Share Purchase Agreement. It was not a straight forward transaction, with regulatory issues involved as well as the usual legal due diligence issues. Everything was dealt with speedily where necessary, and the advice given helped to protect us as the sellers. Where external advice was appropriate, from accountants experienced in such transactions for example, Corri had the necessary contacts when we needed a third party viewpoint. I cannot recommend Corri and her team highly enough for a combination of professionalism and dealing with you as a person as well as a client. I have been a client of Kitson's , now Kitson Boyce, for many years. However, at the beginning of 2023 I engaged the Business Team, headed by Corri Pedrick and Jayme Nicholson to assist in the sale of my business. This soon grew into asking for their support and advice on a massive issue regarding a negligence issue and breach of contract. Both the business sale and conduct issues were intrinsically connected and very complicated. The whole team could not have done more. At every step and turn I was kept informed and advised and supported. Every member of the team, from the reception staff, the secretaries and the trainee solicitors showed empathy towards me. Had a very bad experience with this firm. They took on something they were not experts in and charged us a hefty bill for their own personal training and for adding this to their repertoire. Had no clue on how to get moving and would send us the bill for all their research and training time. Eventually they waived off the last bit of payment only because we challenged it with facts. Wouldn’t recommend them for business purchases at all.
