Following the passing of our mother, my family and I instructed Umar Khan FCCA, Senior Estate Planner at Farani Taylor Solicitors, to handle the probate and administration of her estate. Having recently obtained the Grant of Probate, I would like to recognise the exceptional service we have received. Umar combines deep technical knowledge of probate, inheritance tax and estate administration with a meticulous, methodical approach. He explained complex legal and financial processes with clarity and patience, and his sound judgement and attention to detail have been invaluable. Just as importantly, he understood the human side of the work. Dealing with the legal responsibilities of an estate while grieving is difficult, and Umar was compassionate, courteous and respectful throughout, so our family felt supported and treated with dignity. He was always responsive to our questions. Although parts of the administration are still ongoing, we are extremely grateful for his guidance. My partner and I went through a very difficult and stressful time, and at one stage we truly feared we might not be able to stay together. Emotionally, it was extremely hard for us as a couple.
