I've used Bassets (Stephanie) twice now - initially as a first-time buyer and then more recently for the sale of my property. When looking to sell my property, there was no question in my mind about which solicitor I would like to use. Stephanie and her team are very friendly and were fantastic during what was a very stressful time - I really appreciate everything they did. The advice and guidance provided was always clear and I was happy with the level of communication received. Stephanie and her team would get back to me very quickly with responses to any questions I had, and I found they were always available to arrange a time to speak to them when needed. The level of service you get from them is such good value for money - I highly recommend them

Avoid at All Costs – A Truly Frustrating Experience I don’t usually leave negative reviews, but I feel it’s important to share my experience to help others avoid the stress and disappointment I went through. Over a six-month!! property purchase (with no chain either end) with Bassets, I received just two emails within the first 5 months. One was a response I had to force after four unsuccessful attempts to get an update by phone—only by refusing to hang up did I finally get an answer. The other was to inform me I needed to extend my mortgage offer, as they would not complete within the original four-month window. I was sent the contract with instructions to call and pay the deposit and fees. When I called, the staff were unaware I’d even been sent the contract, though they still took the payment. Email updates were non-existent. After receiving no reply to two emails, I reached out to the seller’s estate agent, who emailed Bassets and received a response within 20 minutes—something I was never afforded as a paying client. Despite signing contracts and paying funds, I was told the purchase couldn’t complete due to a missing document. I received no communication from Bassets, and only after the seller’s agent stepped in was it revealed that the document wasn’t missing at all—it was a post-completion document. The delay was completely unnecessary. Throughout the process, whenever I did get through to someone, they seemed to have no idea what was going on and would always say, “I’ll look into it and call you back.” That call back never came. I was consistently treated like I was a nuisance for simply asking for updates. The amount of stress caused by this level of disorganisation and lack of communication was overwhelming. I would strongly advise anyone considering using Bassets to look elsewhere. This was by far the most unprofessional experience I’ve had.
Good morning Ricardo. I have spoken to the Conveyancing Team about your feedback. I am sorry to hear that you found the process stressful. However, we do not accept that your comments are correct. In fact, we spotted a a defect in the legal documentation which needed to be remedied. It was incumbent on the other party to remedy that defect. Simply, your matter could not be completed until such time that the issue was resolved. To blame us for the delay is both inaccurate and unreasonable. Ultimately, despite the delays caused by the other party, the matter was resolved in a little over 4 months, which is within the time frame that we would expect in a matter such as yours. It took 6 months for the completion to take place. This was for a first-time buyer, and the vendor had no forwarding address to move to. Correspondence was slow, and telephone calls were not taken by conveyancer or secretary on certain days as "too busy." I found the whole process frustrating and would certainly not recommend Bassets solicitors Gillingham Kent

I further understand that the transaction was a complex matter with a leasehold element which necessitated careful consideration and work. Myself and my husband recently bought our first house. We were recommended Stephanie from our Mortgage Advisor and I just had to leave a review. Absolutely awful - my mum is eighty and all we wanted was some advice on her previous will - as we now live 400 miles away from the town in which we did the will The way my mum was spoken to was absolutely disgusting!!!!!! The person we spoke to, I think it was a clerk, was abrasive, told lies about the will trying to say my mum had made a new will and she hadn’t, tried to say someone had visited her and they hadn’t, accused me of being rude when I took over the phone call, upset my mum so much, I will be putting in a formal complaint

The service is below any standard never get a call back paperwork never turned up when said when asked they wanted me to tell them whom had said this someone at that office no paper trail clearly or they would no rude on the phone speak over you you are not allowed to asked question they are not representing this family so they say moan about the phone call they ask for if them tell us to leave them alone what are tgey there for nope would never recommend
