Sue Richardson and her team managed the conveyancing for the sale of our house and my father’s, and the purchase of our new one. Sue is really responsive, knowledgeable and pragmatic. Although she will have been dealing with a large number of clients at any one time, it always felt that she was focused on us. She is also really easy and pleasant to deal with.

I cannot recommend Ines highly enough. I have just spent 5 months trying to sell my business. The buyers solicitor and the buyer made the sale more complicated and stressful than it needed to be and throughout the whole experience Ines was supportive and showed real empathy for my situation. I have used a lot of solicitors in my career and this is the first time I have genuinely felt as though my solicitor was fighting my corner and supporting me through the process, not just following a legal path. I never really felt like "a client", Ines was always incredibly professional but also made me feel like I was being spoken to as a peer and a friend. She made sure that she carefully and clearly explained all my options, she did not just confuse me with legal jargon. When the sale fell through Ines really supported me with the disappointment and the issues that surrounded the buyer pulling out at the last minute. I would recommend Ines and Harrowells to anyone looking for legal support. Thank you.

Since losing my father I have had the task of dealing with the sale of his property. I was dreading the task due to having had a couple of stressful experiences buying and selling my own properties in the past. I hadn’t used Harrowells before, so this was my first time. The Solicitor who dealt with the sale was Emma Mennell, She was so lovely to talk to put my mind at ease and any issues that did arise she dealt with quickly and professionally keeping me in the loop at all times. Nothing was too much trouble and she was very reassuring throughout the whole process. I would highly recommend Harrowells for their Conveyancing Services especially Emma who also explained everything that was written in legal terms so I totally understand everything I was signing for. My mum and I couldn't be more pleased with the service we have received. My mum wanted a discretionary trust to protect her personal injury settlement as she is vulnerable, in addition to a few other reasons. Ed Taylor got back to our request straight away and as soon as we spoke to him on the phone we immediately felt comfortable, he reassured my mum regarding a few things and then from there we knew it was the right choice to go with Harrowells. Initially we must've spoken to about 40 different firms and that is no exaggeration. They either took too long to reply, quoted us a ridiculously high fixed fee or just came across really difficult in general, it just didn't feel right. Before calling Harrowells I had a look at their reviews and I was a little hesitant as they're not all 4-5 stars, but sometimes you just have to see for yourself, make an enquiry and if it feels good - go with it. We have no complaints whatsoever, Ed advised my mum every step of the way to the best of his expertise but without being forceful, he struck the perfect balance between advising and following her wishes and that is precisely what a great solicitor does. In the end he delivered exactly what she required, we couldn't be more satisfied.

Instructed Harowells at Haxby when we were selling my sons house. Set out the perameters at the start and the reasons behind the need to get processes moving. They were clear this was no problem......definitely promised a service they simply don't deliver. Poor poor service from the conveyancing team. Lack of communication.......no one ever available when you ring and not responsive to urgent emails. Their delays and lack of communication have caused serious financial pressure which they know about and yet still over promise and very much under deliver. Wouldn't recommend unless you are happy with a very slow process and lack of response. Not a cheap option......don't think l am asking too much for a bit of customer service and to do what they advertise and also say they do. Sadly now......nowhere else to go other than poor reviews so no one else has to struggle like we have with this firm. Specifically the Haxby branch for us and our experience. We are still not completed and now over 6 months in. Just stay away from this firm.
