We would like to express our sincere gratitude and appreciation to Callum Willey at HSR Law Solicitors for his professionalism, communication and support throughout what became an extremely stressful and worrying property transaction. Over the recent bank holiday weekend, we were faced with serious concerns surrounding the legal ownership and registration of a property purchase, which understandably caused us a huge amount of anxiety and uncertainty. Callum remained calm, professional and proactive throughout, keeping us fully updated and taking the time to explain matters clearly and honestly at every stage. Despite it being a Sunday during a bank holiday weekend, Callum went above and beyond by taking the time to provide us with an important update which ultimately brought enormous relief to us both. His communication, reassurance and dedication genuinely made a very difficult situation far more manageable and we cannot thank him enough for the support he provided. We also greatly appreciated the thoroughness and diligence shown in investigating the issues raised and ensuring matters were properly clarified before proceeding further. We recently used this firm (Mexborough branch)to help us buy our first house, and we’re incredibly grateful for the support we received from the core team. Stevie, our solicitor, was fantastic—professional, patient, and always willing to explain everything clearly. Her assistant Eve was equally helpful, keeping us updated and making sure all the small details were taken care of. And Michaela, the receptionist, was consistently warm, welcoming, and efficient every time we called or visited the Mexborough branch. Their teamwork made the whole process far less stressful, and we genuinely felt looked after throughout. I will mention that we did have a few interactions with staff from other branches, I think it’s the main one mostly, who came across quite dismissive and blunt without reason. Thankfully, this was the exception rather than the norm, and the excellent service from Stevie, Eve, and Michaela far outweighed those moments. Overall, we’re really happy with the service we received and would gladly recommend this team to anyone going through the home-buying process.

Our family appointed HSR Law to handle a house sale and Katie Pendlebury from the Doncaster branch was assigned to work on the transaction. When things did not work out with our first buyer, Katie was quick to send us the invoice for the aborted transaction, which our family swiftly settled. However, when we contacted Katie for her support again after a new buyer was identified, she never responded to our family's multiple messages nor phone calls. There were no out-of-office auto replies and when I called the office, Beverly from the reception said Katie was engaged in meetings and she would leave Katie a message, so we assumed she was at work and chose not to reply to our emails, which was appalling. We were happy to appoint a new law firm, but I just wish they would tell us one way or another sooner, rather than leaving us waiting for over a week with radio silence. Also, we found out the Law Society forms that Katie sent us were the 2020 edition (we are in 2025). Not sure if it would affect the outcome but this goes to show her lack of experience and professionalism. We are extremely disappointed with the experience and want those who are searching for a solicitor to be aware. Let's see if they will respond to my review here, for a change! We are keen to know why Katie never replied.
