AVOID AT ALL COSTS
AVOID AT ALL COSTS - UNTRUSTWORTHY. Shockingly bad experience with people who do not care about clients. RUN to ANY OTHER firm or you may sincerely regret it. During COVID I was made redundant and engaged the firm to represent me. I was at a very vulnerable stage and they abused my trust. The representative misrepresented fees and the fees were increased by £3k after we settled with my employer beyond what I was told to expect and essentially giving the whole settlement to Slater and Gordon. I complained, they dismissed my complaints. When I asked for copies of the phone calls where fees were discussed, magically they’d disappeared. Slater and Gordon then took me to court over the disputed amount, sent court documents to a previous address and added additional legal fees when they sneakily proceeded without even a courtesy email before court. When I begged for compassion they were heartless and I was then forced to pay £5k under extreme duress. This was then legal fees on top of disputed legal fees. For them, you are just a profit-bearing transaction with zero ethics and zero care. I have worked with other solicitors over the years, but I can say Slater and Gordon is the worst and the only one I have ever complained about.
