I cannot recommend Mark and Richard Nelson LLP enough for DBS matters. I wanted to bury my head in the sand when the DBS sent me an initial letter about the possibility of barring me for a silly mistake I’d made years ago in a previous job, but my very supportive supervisor suggested I get legal advice and gave me the contact details for Richard Nelson LLP. I got in touch with Mark early on in the process and it was the best decision I made during that initially distressing time. Mark was worth his weight in gold; he was compassionate yet consummately professional, and is so incredibly knowledgable about the DBS framework and what needs to be communicated in representations. In my case, I didn’t deny the internal mistake that had occurred, but with Mark’s assistance we were able to communicate that I had excellent professional and personal credentials previously, but had been worn down to the point that a mistake was made at my lowest point. Mark gave me faith that my case was worth fighting and was very helpful throughout the process. The result was that my full representations were entered in before the 8 week deadline and I was sent a No Action letter / not added to any barred lists very quickly, which was a huge relief for me. I am so glad I made the call to Mark at the beginning of this process, and strongly encourage anyone else who is going through this to do the same.
