“I got in touch with Magara Law just before Christmas, I felt safe talking to Roy about my discrimination case as he is also someone from minority background. Roy and his team ensure that I felt valued at all times, every thing was explained properly to me, all my concerns were addressed and they put in the work I asked. Not only they helped me legally but they also were there for emotional support and to be honest it kept me afloat during such a difficult and sensitive time. Forever grateful, Roy knows this. I want to take this opportunity to also thank Millie, her customer service is top tier, her care is visible in her voice and how she deals with things. I wish every law firm had a Roy and a Millie, but you can’t have it all. I definitely recommend them! (I usually leave loads of negative reviews to businesses with poor standards so it means a lot if I can leave 5 stars)”

“While my case is ongoing, from the very start, Slater Heelis and Sylviane have been exceptional. When no one else was willing to take on my employment law matter, Sylviane and the team at Slater Heelis stepped in with unwavering support, expertise, and inclusivity. Sylviane has been amazing throughout the entire process, and I feel fortune to have her support. She guided me with clarity, continuously accommodated my circumstances, and always provided grounded, actionable advice that helped me move forward with confidence. Thanks to her, I now feel in a strong, empowered position, something I did not feel at the beginning. As a domestic abuse survivor who is neurodivergent, disabled, and from the LGBTQIA+ community, the incredible quality of service and affirming experience has been invaluable. Working with Sylviane has been brilliant, the expertise, empathy, and dedication are a joy to work with. In today’s often hostile climate, knowing there’s an inclusive, reliable option like Slater Heelis and Sylviane for employment law gives me reassurance for the community, that we won’t be ignored, and that there are options for support so we can seek justice and continue to live our lives with pride. I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend Sylviane and Slater Heelis to my peers or anyone seeking compassionate, high-quality legal support, especially those who need an ally in employment disputes. Whatever happens with my case, thank you for being the support I desperately needed.”

“Highly recommended. Patrick Macken took over my disability discrimination case with only around three weeks before our Employment Tribunal- Final Hearing. Given the complexity of the matter, I was initially concerned that there simply wouldn’t be enough time for him to fully understand the case and all of the issues involved. It was a very complex and hard-fought case, with a huge amount of evidence to work through. The respondents side had been represented by a very experienced barrister from the early stages of proceedings, including the preliminary hearing, judicial mediation and also represented at the final hearing. We had been living and breathing the case for over two years, so we knew just how much there was to take in. We initially had email communications, and we first met Patrick properly on the morning of 10 August 2026 - the day of the final hearing Despite having an enormous amount of material and countless potential questions available to him, Patrick identified the important issues and chose the right lines of cross-examination. He delivered his questions confidently, clearly and professionally, and exposed a number of important points that needed to be challenged. His final submission was equally impressive. He presented our case with confidence and clarity, referred to the relevant legal principles and applicable case law, and brought together the key issues in a way that was compelling and easy to follow. Most importantly, both my wife and I felt completely at ease with Patrick. He gave us confidence at a time when we really needed it. My husband even told Patrick during the hearing that his cross-examination was every bit as good as we would have expected from a barrister, and we genuinely meant it. We could not have asked for better representation at such an important stage of the case - all things considered. Thank you, Patrick, for your professionalism, preparation, confidence and, most importantly, for fighting our corner. We won! And we will always be grateful that Patrick and Jayne and all of the staff at Richard Nelson LLP Solicitors who helped us achieve it. Kim & Gary Foster”
