Top 10 of 630 law firms for Driving Matters, Driving offences

Law firms ranked by client reviews

This area covers the prosecution and defence of motoring offences, such as speeding, careless or dangerous driving, drink or drug driving, and driving while disqualified. A solicitor in this field handles the full spectrum of road traffic matters, from advising on evidence and deadlines to drafting statements, negotiating with prosecutors, and representing clients in court. The work can hinge on how the offence is charged, the available defences, and the potential for penalties including fines, points, or disqualification.

Where a solicitor protects your position

Key stakes include the risk of a driving ban, criminal conviction, or heightened penalties that affect future licences and insurance. A solicitor explains the consequences, ensures proper procedure is followed, and challenges what can be challenged within time limits, forms of proof, and equivalence of offences, while safeguarding the client's legal rights throughout the process.

I was recommend to Stephen Halloran by a mutual friend after a very bad experience at another Solicitors. Stephen can in my view can only be described in one way and that would be extremely knowledgeable in his field, he is straight forward, and very conscientious, he will give his very best in defending his clients. My driving matter was very serious and he dealt with it with the upmost care. I would highly recommend Stephen to anyone needing Legal advice.

Ameeta Patel

Tagged solicitor Ameeta Patel

Ameeta defended me due to a driving conviction that had been brought against me. Her knowledge and experience on these matters reassured me and my wife that things would be fine and that our circumstance was actually more common than we thought. She helped settle us into the process and explained very clearly as to what we should expect. She managed to negotiate with the prosecutor on what charges would actually be brought against me and the outcome of the case was better than we were expecting due to her hard work and guidance on the matter. If I am ever to be in the same situation again (fingers crossed not!) I would not hesitate to contact her again

Jonothan Moss

Tagged solicitor Jonothan Moss

This refers to an alleged traffic offence for which I was threatened with prosecution. Mr Moss of BP Collins was most helpful and gave me excellent advice and support. He and a colleague visited the place where the alleged offence took place. As a result of his investigation, he was able to convince the police that, as far as it concerned me, no offence had been committed. I would certainly consult Mr Moss again if any similar situation occurred again. My thanks to him. This all cost me a lot of money, but I did not begrudge it because I was so thankful to have the threat of prosecution lifted.

Michael Horne

Tagged solicitor Michael Horne

Today I had occasion to contact Michael Horne of Kidwells Solicitors(Bristol), as I was so incensed at receiving a debt collection notice for an offense committed at Bristol airport of stopping momentarily on red lines. Two parking charges were raised by the private company in charge of overseeing the airport. I was in dispute with the company and wrote two letters explaining the situation. I received a reply to one charge rejecting my reasons for non payment so I decided to pay this. However, I never received a reply for the second charge either confirming the charge or laying it aside. The debt collection agency when phoned, said a letter had been sent out via the Post Office, but we had never received this letter. We were told that until paid this debt would incur daily charges, at this point I contacted Kidwells. Speaking about the offences in question Michael Horne was very helpful in explaining that under law , two offences had been committed and although we could proceed with fighting this in court, the costs if we were not successful would far outweigh the debt that had been incurred. He gave this advice freely and did not seek any recompense, and wished us well with our proceedings. For this, I thank him, and for the understanding way he treated our complaint. I would thoroughly recommend Kidwells, Bristol from our experience and will certainlyuse them if needed in the future.
