Top 10 of 3,549 law firms for Employment Contracts, Employment

Law firms ranked by client reviews

This area covers the creation, review and negotiation of an employee’s contractual terms, including core rights, duties and remedies set out in a contract of employment, variations to terms, restrictive covenants, and associated policies. A solicitor in this area drafts or amends the contract, negotiates with the employer or their HR team, checks for compliant dismissal or redundancy provisions, and advises on issues such as flexibility, probation, notice, pay, benefits and confidentiality. It also covers disputes arising from contract terms and exits.

Where a solicitor protects your position

The contract forms the basis of an employee’s rights and obligations; breaches can affect pay, job security and career prospects. A solicitor provides guidance on enforceable terms, raises concerns about unfair or unlawful provisions, and helps secure or challenge clauses through negotiation, correspondence, or, if needed, formal proceedings in employment tribunals or courts. Timely advice helps protect status, avoids unwanted consequences, and ensures a clear, workable exit or continuation of duties.

Amy JeffersonElizabeth Evans Jarvis

Tagged solicitors Amy Jefferson and Elizabeth Evans Jarvis

Even from my initial call to MLP Law they were so helpful and understanding of my situation. Amy was very knowledgeable and provided me with both the necessary statutory information and also how MLP Law could assist me with negotiations. There was no pressure to instruct immediately that I found with other local law firms and Amy helped me identify the information I needed before I proceeded with MLP Law. Elizabeth was very helpful too and ensured the best possible outcome for me. Her diligence and correspondence after hours were much appreciated. I am confident that the agreement Elizabeth secured allows me to look ahead with confidence rather than dwell on the past. I would thoroughly recommend MLP Law and will consider them first for future legal requirements.

Anna Jane Louisa Neil

Tagged solicitor Anna Jane Louisa Neil

I was advised Maitland Walker by my employer. It was a bit of a niche situation that I needed advice on, and although the situation changed, Anna straight away had a number of solutions. She also helped to drive the process from both sides of the situation, whilst always having a clear understanding and care of the situation. In the nicest way I hope I never have to use them again, but I 100% would use them if needed.

Julie GrangerLeigh Anne Prebble-Benn

Tagged solicitors Julie Granger and Leigh Anne Prebble-Benn

Dear Julie, I was made redundant in July and was advised by my company to speak with a solicitor about my redundancy settlement. Not only was I upset and worried about the situation, but also very scared and nervous about contacting a solicitor as this was all new to me. I contacted Kingsfords and spoke firstly to Jacqueline Chappell, who was very helpful and gave clear instructions on what I needed to send to her. Jacqueline immediately made me feel much better and told me that it would be Leigh Prebble-Benn who I would have my telephone appointment with. When I first read through my settlement agreement I didn't really understand what it all meant and so when Leigh took the time to read through it line by line to explain things in simpler terms, it wasn't so overwhelming. Leigh also gave clear instructions on what I needed to do next and everything was all done quickly. It was also very lovely to know that I could contact Leigh if I had any other concerns. Their professionalism and kindness is outstanding and I wanted to thank them both as I am truly grateful. Best wishes and kind regards
