Henry Doswell

Tagged solicitor Henry Doswell

From beginning to end I am sure I was given good advice, and guidance in dealing with a former work place over an unfortunatly petty ending, that should not have needed legal advice, but upon their insistance, that is what I went and received. Mr Doswell was very approachable. From the very beginning he was open, and he was very honest, about what he saw as the most likely outcomes. We both agreed that my situation was mostly a superficial act to cover my former employers failings in a petty revenge termination. With myself wanting to make a point I would not just roll over, be bullied and allow them to bad mouth myself and attempt to stop me finding work in the future. He was also helpful in advice about what to look for and my best approaches for a quick and positive outcome. He was incredibly patient with myself and my former employers over something that could have taken a few weeks to sort, but ended up being dragged out for months due to a lot of kneejerk changes, especially in personal representation, on my former employers side. Every time, the new indidvdual claimed they knew nothing of what was happening. To which, Mr Doswell could have claimed time in bringing the new person up to speed on the situation, but allowed me to handle that instead. I did not feel that my case was taken on to just make a profit, as the costs could have been a lot higher (example above). It seemed, it was more to assist myself in getting a fairer outcome from what had happened. I was given freedom to talk to my former employer and attend the meetings unaided, having been given advice on what to say and expect. More then once Mr Doswell mentioned that my former employers did not appear to have taken legal direction in what we were doing. I know that they were just responding and dragging their heels. Thus keeping my costs low and avoiding legal time being wasted, when everyone knew "mandated" meetings were only there to stall and drag out the whole ordeal. Although no legal advice ever comes cheap. The rates for work seemed fair and I believe it was worth the cost for what I was looking for. In the end, I believe it was a satisfactory outcome to a very poor situation. My original expectations for the outcome had been a lot, lot lower then what happened by the time everything was signed and closed off. As with any legal advice or assistance. I obviously hope not to have to use the services again. Yet should I find myself in a similar situation, I would without question come back for future legal assistance.
