Will never ever use again

I am extremely disappointed with the service I have received from Talbots Law. After purchasing a property in the beginning of June, with no chain, I was informed the process would take 3/4 months to complete. It has now been nearly 6 months and I have been informed with a week to go until my exchange and complete date, with deliveries booked in, removal companies at the ready, that my house is at risk of not going through.

There has been no communication from the solicitor dealing with my file, I have never received a phone call from my lead contact and email communication has always been led by me as the client. They do nothing to update you on the status of the file, I have offered to do what I can to speed up the process a number of times, documents were sent to an email address they provided where the member of staff didn’t actually have access to them and now I am extremely stressed, frustrated and disappointed.

If my property does not complete as it is supposed to on 1st December, I will be making a formal complaint about the way I have been treated

Slow and poor experience

The purchase of my flat through Talbots law with no chain involved took over 6 months. Communications were awful with emails being ignored and only being able to speak to the Paralegal adviser who did the work on the flat around the time of exchange. At the end of the experience we were owed back £35 which has never been paid despite both me and my husband having to speak to them separately to give our bank details to make the payment and despite having chased by email three or four times. I have been frustrated by this firm. I would notrecommend them. Even the estate agent who recommended them was frustrated at the slow service and lack of communications.

Lack of communication and so slow!

We are looking at buying a new build shared ownership. We were told the process normally takes about 12 weeks to complete and we were expecting some time in September plus an extra few weeks. We are now in mid November and we are struggling to hear back from the solicitors. I get a random emails about 2 weeks apart asking for documents to be signed instead of just sending everything at once. I have asked how long the process is going to take multiple times and it's just being ignored. We have now had to put notice in on our rental house as our tenancy is coming to an end soon and we are still unclear when we will be moving in. We are the last house in the estate that have not moved in!

Beware of this company—they're not just incompetent, but they also engage in theft. They took my money and never returned it, which amounts to stealing. I've to report them to the police and pursue legal action to get my money back. They also ignore all communication, refusing to respond to my emails. Avoid this company at all costs.

My personal experience with Talbort Law has been truly impeccable. From the onset I was met with the highest form of professionalism. I would like to thank Mr Jassal and his team for the hard work and patience afforded to myself through a complex time. I highly appreciate how Talbort Law Dudley and Mr Jassal had maintained balance of transparency, simplifying technicalities of legal terms and assurance. I highly respect how autonomy and courtesy was implemented throughout the whole process. Mr Jassal is highly skilled , incredibly knowledgeable of field and thorough. I would highly recommend both Mr Jassal and Talbort Law Dudley. Once again thank you for providing an above and beyond amazing experience.

Our experience with Talbots Law during the recent purchase of our property was exceptional. The team, particularly Georgie, was incredibly helpful and responsive throughout the entire process. They were always quick to address any questions we had, providing clear and detailed explanations that eased our concerns. Georgie's professionalism shone through, especially when dealing with a particularly difficult vendor.

Despite the challenges posed by the seller, Georgie managed the situation with grace and efficiency, ensuring that the transaction progressed as smoothly as possible. She handled all communications with tact and kept us informed at every stage, which was invaluable in reducing the stress often associated with the vendor and property transactions. Talbots Law and Georgie made a potentially stressful experience manageable, and their expertise and dedication were evident from start to finish. Thanks to their outstanding service, what could have been a complicated and stressful ordeal was concluded in the end with a difficult Vendor purchasing from. Georgie is a credit to Talbots Law!

Completely avoid them! DO NOT waste your time. Recommended to us by a broker, clearly trying to make a quick buck. Much like every other review they were completely unresponsive to our emails and calls. After 3 months of the purchase process we still had yet to start any enquiries. After 6 months they still hadn't completed the enquiries. When our solicitor went on holiday there was nobody to take over the case leading to repeated delays in our purchase. In addition to this we were provided a trainee solictor who repeatedly failed to even answer the most basic questions.

Rather than bother to update us on the status of our sale we were forced to chase the broker who would force a reply from them. Eventually even the broker gave up chasing them. In the end, to get an update, we ourselves had to followup with the estate agent and chase the sellers solicitor ourselves. We found out the previous sellers tenants were squatting but didn't hear that from our solicitor, nor did they seem to be aware of the matter. We were told directly by the estate agents....The amount they're charging, we still to this day are unsure what an earth we were paying for.

To add insult to injury, after the first solicitor being incompetent, we requested a change of solicitor. To our surprise the new solicitor was even worse. She was evasive, rude, dismissive and completely unapproachable. She clearly did not want to have anything to do with our case and made that very very evident.

Thanks to their delays and lack of able ability to followup with any other parties, during the purchase process we lost 3 mortgage offers purely because they dragged their heals.

As first time buyers Talbots law was extremely unhelpful, stressed us out beyond belief and wasted countless days and months of our lives we will never ever get back.

This is clearly not an isolated case as their paralegal department that deals with declerations of trust are just as unresponsive and just as unhelpful. Having terminated services in December, 7 months later we have just receieved a closing letter. 7 MONTHS.

I have no regrets terminating services with them. We completed our sale 3 months later having started the whole process again with a competent solicitors.

I dont enjoy leaving bad reviews but people need to be made aware of rogue solicitors. Do your research.
