not what we hoped for
Initial experience was good with weekly updates on progress. When that sale fell through communication went downhill. The portal was never updated, the emphasis seemed to change to the customer seeking information, phone calls were not followed up, out of office messages were left up several days after expiry. E mails were only part answered.
If you are happy to have a variety of individuals dealing with your business and being passed on each time things are 'progressed' , never meeting any staff involved, reception staff not being involved in any business, so needing to explain each time, this is the firm for you

Efficient, great communication and general excellent service
Really great communication and always prompt to respond. Handled everything really professionally and very thorough in dealing with contracts and enquiries. Also highly recommend paying extra to use their app, keeps you updated on progress. Generally excellent service.

Our experience with Lyons Bowes has been fantastic, as first-time buyers we had lots of questions which were always answered promptly and all email exchanges were polite and professional. Handling the sale of my house
As a Canadian, dealing with real estate in UK has been quite eye opening and totally mind boggling. It makes one wonder who is responsible for this ridiculous law that a potential buyer can walk away from a deal they have agreed on, which has been in progress for months.
What does that leave the seller and the chain the subsequent people are in, in the meantime ? No security, no assurance, no guarantee, no peace of mind. Selling property in UK can be a person’s worse experience of their life.
So much for what I think of UK Real Estate.
Having said that……… I was one of the lucky ones who did not need to purchase another house in UK, and my potential buyers were a lovely first time buyer couple who did not walk away from the deal and the sale was completed after 3 months.
The firm of Lyons Bowe were a pleasure to deal with, right from the beginning dealing with different departments in their firm, who handled different tasks, step by step, all of the personnel were professional, friendly and approachable. They made this experience bearable and I would definitely recommend this firm to anyone else looking for solicitors to handle the sale of their property.

Great solicitors
Used Lyons Bowe (Shepton Mallet) recently in buying our first home. Dealt with Chloe, Sian & Zoe who were all very helpful and professional. Communication was great, there were a couple of times I needed to chase things but I feel like you get that with all solicitors in a process of buying a house!
As first time buyers we don’t have any comparison, however from the initial phone call of enquiry I was very impressed with the information I received, all of my questions answered and how quick and efficient the starting process was. As then with all of the process which was generally smooth and a great experience. Always very helpful on the phone and by email and really liked the app so you can see the progress of stages, which makes it so much easier rather than chasing on the phone of where things are at. Also the app is great if you’re a first time buyer like we were and had no knowledge of the steps of what happens in each stage of buying a house! Very happy with the service and would highly recommend Lyons Bowe.
