Now that we are at the end of 3 years of what can only be called a total nightmare with a case that could have come out of some Dickens novel. I am thrilled to say that Andrew Turner has finally seen off the opponent for the final time. We have been to County Courts and High Courts. We have read thousands of documents, filed just as many and discussed each one. Andrew has seen the opponent off many times but they just kept coming back for more punishment and with a person in litigant as our opposite it made the process even harder. I have had more injunctions served on me personally than hot dinners and each one has just been another problem to solve and not a mountain to climb. Just when we thought we had finally won the Phoenix rose from the ashes again but this time the head has been removed. Thankfully Andrew Turner will be thrilled that this is the end of case as will be his team who have been fantastic and so a well deserved thanks to them all. We are currently selling this troubled property via Hughes Paddison along with other properties and therefore have continued our relationship with them. If you happen to be unfortunate to have to go to litigation over property then Andrew Turner (if you are lucky enough to be able to work with him ) will do a great job. He is able to be pragmatic, commercial and still keep his eye firmly on the law and has never ducked away from a hard decision and has been very fair over billing and payments. He. has a great sense of humour which one does need and he never drops the ball. I have been unable to write a review until this time as the case was ongoing but a huge thanks to Andrew and the team who have not played an insignificant part in this Dikenzian drama. and please accept this in the right way but I really hope that I never speak to you again!!

Andrew Edward Turner

Having been recommended to H&P i was passed between 4 different solicitors, all of whom failed to handle my case appropriately. Upon complaining the relationship was terminated and then they failed to transfer my file for weeks, and finally released it the day before the hearing only once threatened with an action for contempt of court. Truly shocking and appalling behaviour.

I have recently used the services of both Sarah Maxwell and Madelaine Prior. I found both ladies to be excellent. They made the whole process understandable and easy. They were both very approachable and had excellent communication with responding to emails etc swiftly. I’d certainly not hesitate in recommending either of them to anyone. They’re a credit to the company.

I would definitely not recommend Hughes Paddison. They were appointed as executors for our late mother’s will but, despite all their promises, they demonstrated very little commitment to completing the process in a timely manner. For example, they told us not to use the Government ‘Tell Us Once’ service as they would complete it … and then didn’t bother to do anything about it! The result was a greatly extended time-frame for completion as they had to contact everyone individually. They waited three months before chasing a reply to emails they had sent. They also almost doubled the charges they originally quoted when they started the process but didn’t tell us this until after completion. We complained to the Legal Ombudsman who fully reviewed the case and found in our favour, determining that Hughes Paddison had not provided “a reasonable level of service” in certain areas. We received a 15% refund of the final charge. Not all solicitors are the same and there are far better firms locally. Learn from our experience and choose your solicitor very carefully.
