I contacted McAlister family law to assist me in getting contact with my son due to urgent safeguarding concerns. I was called back the day after by Megan who was simply amazing. She explained fully the process and what to expect before/during/after the initial court process. I could see throughout that it wasn't just "another case" for her and she really does care. Megan consistently chased everyone that she needed to and i did not expect the initial start of the process to be as quick as it was. It seemed like a whirlwind for me however it was made a lot easier with the support i received, and was kept up to date with everything. I cannot thank Megan enough for her help and work she put in to helping me.

I was introduced to Megan through a friend of a friend and I’m honestly so grateful for that! Throughout what has been an incredibly difficult and emotional time in my life, Megan is so compassionate, understanding and approachable. She was always easy to talk to and, no matter how upset or emotional I became, she never once made me feel silly or embarrassed for feeling the way I did. She gave me hope when I really needed it and helped me feel reassured during a very uncertain and stressful process. She also took the time to answer questions from my family, putting their minds at ease, and went above and beyond by offering advice on other issues when needed. I always felt listened to, supported and understood. And thanks to her and her colleagues hard work, we achieved the best possible outcome, which means so much to me, my children and my family.

Megan Brookfield

I found Calum Whelan a few years ago when I needed some advise, I found he was very helpful and knowledgeable. Due to a change in circumstances I needed a good solicitor again. I remembered Calum from MSB and searched the internet to find him as I knew I could rely on him. I am glad I found him here at McAlister Family Law. Calum is honest, very trustworthy and a pleasure to deal with, I felt comfortable talking to him about a sensitive issue. Calum is always there when you need him, if he is busy he will always email you back to arrange a convenient time to call. He always listens and never rushes you. Update, since writing the below review, they have now turned a corner. Much better communication and plan of action! I’ve upgrade to 3 stars and hopefully will improve this (fingers crossed) ////// original review: Unprofessional and incredibly poor communication!! After an initial conversation where Jason promised a straightforward process and said he would be in touch soon to get started, I was left completely in the dark. That was back in February. Despite sending multiple follow-up emails, I have received almost no response. If my case is not a priority, or if they are simply too busy, I would have appreciated honest, transparent communication instead of being ignored and strung along for months. Highly disappointing.

This is an excellent firm if you are a respondent in a Hague Convention case! My solicitors were very attentive, kept me in the loop, and very strategic and professional. Although they were sure I would lose the case they put in so much hard work and took it through to the final hearing where we won!
