Complex divorce made simple
I highly recommend the service of Beth Woodward and her team to anyone contemplating a separation or divorce. At almost 70 and after a long marriage the time had come for me to take control of a deteriorating situation and, with the careful listening, skillful and compassionate assistance of Beth, my goal of future security and a peaceful life was achieved in under a year. Initiating divorce proceedings; selling my home; buying a new home and dissolving the business partnership with my ex was a daunting prospectfor me in March 2025. It all progressed calmly under the watchful and strategic eye of Beth, who as well as supporting me, managed my ex- husband's shock and anger with intelligence, humour and grace. I wish anyone reading this the good fortune of having the support of an excellent solicitor.

My uncle appointed Neves and me to deal with his estate and carry out his will. It was something I'd never done before and was very daunted, but I couldn't have had a smoother experience for what was otherwise a very sad time following his death with Sarah Smith and Neves. I am very grateful to her and the company for their professionalism, advice, clarity and consistency throughout a months-long process. If I had a question it was always answered promptly - and it can be a confusing and worrying experience dealing with someone's will and estate. I was Executor to a complicated Will, which Neves helped and advised me through. Property had to be sold both residential and commercial. For someone who was not used to this type of business, l can say l couldn’t have done it without their help, support, and professional advice. I would recommend them.

We went to Mark Stevens to update our wills to reflect some changes in our circumstances. The whole experience was excellent, from booking the initial consultation, through the administrative requirements, the consultation itself and the processing of the final documentation. Mark took us through all the changes we wanted to make, discussed the implications of the changes, explained any concerns we had, and, throughout it all, he was unhurried and completely focused on us and our requirements. Following up from that meeting, we received the draft wills to confirm, attended the office to sign them and then today received our copies of the final wills. We would wholeheartedly recommend Mark and the firm for a very well-rounded experience!

I cannot compliment them enough. All the staff so friendly and the team that dealt with my probate absolutely fantastic. Having lost my husband and trying to sort out his financial affairs was daunting , but Nina and her team just made it easy and took the burden away from me during this terrible time. I cannot thank her enough and her teams professionalism was outstanding, never mind the kind and caring nature of the team. They guided me through each step and always had time to ask me how I was coping. I would use them in a heartbeat. They acted speedily and kept me updated all the time. I am in the process of getting probate for my late sister's estate. The probate office could not proceed with this without the original copy of the will. I applied to Neves for it and Christine Herbert answered this very promptly and sent it by Special Delivery to myself. Thus I was able to send it to the Probate office, without delay.

Professional and straight talking
Katy Williams and her team have completed many tasks for me from leasing properties being the lessee and then a landlord. She has advised me in buying and selling commercial property along the way. Beth is an amazing!!
I cannot recommend Beth enough. She helped me through the sale of a house with my ex, an incredibly stressful situation and she was amazing from start to finish. She was always approachable, easy to contact, proactive and gave clear, honest advice throughout the whole process. I always felt supported and reassured knowing she was handling everything, and she worked hard to get the issue resolved as smoothly as possible. Not only is she extremely professional and knowledgeable, but she’s also a genuinely lovely person who really cares about her clients. We couldn't have had a better experience working with Haneef from Neves Solicitors (Harpenden). As first time buyers, he ensured the entire process was clear right from the outset - not only being super responsive and actioning everything immediately - but always taking the time to keep us updated and answer any questions. Due to disorganisation on the sellers' side, we ended up exchanging and completing on the same day - Haneef worked late into the night on our behalf to ensure everything was ready, kept us in the loop (and calm!) and it was entirely down to him that everything went ahead as planned.
