After 20 months in proceedings they have today concluded in the best outcome possible for my family. With Judy Johnson’s help, we achieved an outcome that had seemed almost impossible. Judy was highly recommended to us as a children’s lawyer. She supported us in caring for a deeply troubled teenager. When we found ourselves in conflict with a local authority and social workers whom we believed had failed both the young person and us. Those concerns ultimately came before the family courts. I found Shumyla Sheikh during one of the hardest times of my life, fighting in court for my child. Having her by my side has meant so much to me. She works until late and somehow is there again early in the morning. I honestly don’t know how she does it. :) She keeps me updated, remembers the details and always makes time to give me advice when I go a little crazy But what I appreciate most is how human she is. I try to be strong, but I’m not strong all the time. Sometimes I cry, sometimes I feel lost, and she listens with patience and kindness. At such a difficult time, that means more than people realise.
