The work done was very clear and all questions answered even 'spur of the moment' matters were dealt with quickly and effeciently. A friend of my late wife asked if I could recommend a solicitor for Will purposes and I recommended Backhouse. She later advised me that she was more than satisfied with the recommendation.
Reasonable cosst, itemised, prompt, efficient, quick to reply to any queries. Quote and actual invoice were consistent. Reasonable cost, cheaper than quote from esate agents suggested solicitor. Good service provided with probate and conveyancing.
Clearly advised charges and fees involved. Julia Sood is very thorough, proactive and knowledgeable. Julia understood and provided clear advice.

Having to deal with the passing of both parents last year, we needed help with the setting up of probate, selling the house and all other bits and pieces that needed tidying up. Cannot recommend Backhouse Solicitors enough on our sale and purchase recently. Catie and Chelsea were both extremely professional yet also personable throughout the whole process and went above and beyond in terms of helping us [as the sale side of things was not the easiest!] We have also enquired with the firm for our wills [my Wife and I] as their conveyancing service has been nothing short of outstanding. Thankyou both so much for all your hard work! If we were to move again [hopefully not for another 20 years at least] we would certainly be returning to Backhouse.

I’ve recently used Backhouse Solicitors after being dismissed by my employer after over 30 years. I went to them just to get an offer agreement signed that my old firm had offered me. It was Sarina that told me that I had a good case for unfair dismissal and so the process began. Sarina was outstanding from start to finish. She listened to everything I had been through, and our conversations felt like a therapy session as well as legal advice. She was incredibly supportive, compassionate, and always made me feel like she was firmly in my corner. Sarina explained every stage of the process clearly, outlining all the possible options along with the risks and benefits of each approach. Her knowledge and professionalism gave me confidence throughout. After nearly 3 years of going back and forth with the other side (they were proving to be very difficult) we managed to get an out of court settlement over 3 times higher than the original offer. I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend Backhouse Solicitors, especially their Employment team, to anyone dealing with an employment dispute. Their support and expertise made a difficult situation so much easier to navigate.

We had a very positive experience with Catie and Chelsea throughout our house move. They were extremely efficient, communicated clearly and kept us well informed at every stage. Our sale and purchase involved some delays within the chain, but they were helpful in navigating these issues and consistently chased matters to keep everything moving. Their persistence and proactive approach helped ensure we were able to meet our deadline, which we really appreciated. Moving house can be stressful, particularly when there are delays outside of your control, and having a solicitor who was responsive, organised and kept things on track made a real difference. We would definitely recommend them and wouldn’t hesitate to use them again.
