This covers the UK immigration route for a same-sex partner to join or remain with a partner who is a British citizen, settled in the UK, or otherwise qualifies under the Immigration Rules. A solicitor helps with the partner visa application (often under Appendix FM), gathering evidence of a genuine relationship, cohabitation, and financial support, and preparing the necessary forms, statements, and supporting documents. They may liaise with the Home Office, advise on potential leave to remain and any required visas for dependants, and respond to requests for further information or refusals.
The crucial decision is whether leave to remain is granted, which is time-sensitive and can affect residency, work rights, and future settlement. A solicitor provides guidance on assembling robust evidence, advises on meeting the financial and relationship requirements, and helps manage deadlines, potential refusals, or appeals with the appropriate Home Office procedures. They also ensure correct evidence is presented in forms, cover letters, and supporting documents to safeguard your position if circumstances change.

Samuel Jones provided an excellent service helping me put through my Irish Passport application. He knew and understood the full procedure and was quick, polite, and efficient. He even provided confirmation to the Irish authorities by 'phone.
